A soundtrack album for the Australian drama Healing has been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner David Hirschfelder (Elizabeth, Shine, The Railway Man, Legend of the Guardians). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 7, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips below. Healing is directed by Craig Monahan and stars Hugo Weaving, Xavier Samuel, Don Hany, Xavier Samuel, Anthony Hayes, Jane Menelaus, Mark Leonard Winter, Robert Taylor and Justine Clarke. The movie chronicles a prison inmate’s last 18 months before release after serving a 16-year term as he is sent to a prison farm, where a senior officer has established a unique program to rehabilitate broken men. The drama was released in Australia earlier this month.

‘John Doe: Vigilante’ Soundtrack Released
A soundtrack album has been released for the Australian thriller John Doe: Vigilante. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-nominated composer David Hirschfelder (Elizabeth, Shine, Australia). The soundtrack is now available digitally on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. John Doe: Vigilante is directed by Kelly Dolen and stars Jamie Bamber, Lachy Hulme, Gary Abrahams, Sam Parsonson, Brendan Clearkin and Brooke Ryan. The movie follows an ordinary man who decides to take the law into his own hands and begins exacting justice the only way he knows how – by killing one criminal at a time. The thriller opened in select theaters this past March.
‘Bird People’ Soundtrack Details
Cristal Records has released a soundtrack album for the French drama Bird People. The album features the film’s original music composed by Béatrice Thiriet (Lady Chatterley). Also included is David Bowie’s Space Oddity and Feist’s Anti Pioneer. The soundtrack was released earlier this week in France. Bird People is directed by Pascale Ferran and stars Josh Charles, Anais Demoustier, Roschdy Zem, Camelia Jordana, Geoffrey Cantor, Clark Johnson, Taklyt Vongdara, Radha Mitchell and Mathieu Amalric. The movie follows an American businessman who arrives at Paris’ Charles De Gaulle airport and checks into a local hotel, turns off his cell and laptop and starts a new life. The drama just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was released in France this past Wednesday.
‘Coming Home’ Soundtrack Details
Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for Zhang Yimou’s romantic drama Coming Home. The album features the film’s original music composed by Qigang Chen who previously scored the director’s features The Flowers of War and Under the Hawthorne Tree. The music was recorded with the China Philharmonic Orchestra and features piano solos by Lang Lang. The soundtrack will be released overseas on June 13, 2014. No word yet on a domestic release date. Check out audio clips after the jump. Coming Home directed by Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) stars Chen Daoming, Gong Li, Zhang Huiwen, Guo Tao, Liu Peiqi, Zu Feng and Yan Ni. The movie inspired by Yan Geling’s The Criminal Yu Yanshi chronicles the journey of a Chinese dissident from the 1920′s to the 1990′s. The drama recently world premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
Remastered ‘Altered States’ Soundtrack Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a remastered re-issue of the soundtrack for the 1980 drama Altered States directed by Ken Russell and starring William Hurt, Blair Brown and Bob Balaban. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Corigliano (The Red Violin, Revolution) who received his first Academy Award nomination for his score. The soundtrack for the Warner Bros. Pictures production is limited to 2500 copies. More Music from ‘Walk of Shame’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a third soundtrack album for the comedy Walk of Shame. The album features more songs from the film by Black Mob Group, Lana Shea, Mia Koo Sebastian Robertson & Kill The Computer and Stuart Davis. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 10, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips below. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring songs from the movie, as well as an album featuring composer John Debney’s original score. Walk of Shame directed by Steven Brill and starring Elizabeth Banks, James Marsden and Gillian Jacobs was released in select theaters last month and is now available on VOD.
‘Jersey Boys’ Soundtrack Details
Rhino Records will release the official soundtrack album for Clint Eastwood’s movie adaptation of Jersey Boys. The album features the songs from the film and the Broadway musical written by Bob Gaudio and featuring lyrics by Bob Crewe, including Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like a Man, Dawn, Rag Doll, Bye Bye Baby and Who Loves You. Also included are original recordings by Frankie Vallie & The Four Seasons. The soundtrack will be released on June 24, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Jersey Boys based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical stars John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Michael Lomenda, Vincent Piazza and Christopher Walken. The movie follows four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons. The musical will be released nationwide on June 20 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
‘Think Like a Man Too’ Soundtrack Announced
Epic Records has announced a soundtrack album for the comedy sequel Think Like a Man Too. The album features the songs from and inspired by the film by Mary J. Blige, including the end credits song Vegas Night feat. The-Dream and the song See That Boy Again, on which she collaborated with Pharrell Williams. The soundtrack will be released on June 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Think Like a Man Too is directed by Tim Story and stars Kevin Hart, Regina Hall, Taraji P. Henson, La La Anthony, Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good, Terrence J, Jenifer Lewis, Romany Malco, Gary Owen, Adam Brody, Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Walton. The sequel follows the couples on a trip to wedding in Las Vegas, but plans for a romantic weekend go awry when their various misadventures get them into some compromising situations that threaten to derail the big event. The comedy will be released on June 20 by Sony Pictures/Screen Gems.
Walt Disney Records to Release ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ Soundtrack
Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the animated sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Speed, Brother Bear) who previously scored last year’s first installment in the series. Planes: Fire & Rescue is directed by Bobs Gannaway and features the voice talent of Dane Cook, Julie Bowen, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Danny Mann, Teri Hatcher and Ed Harris. The movie follows world-famous air racer Dusty who learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. ‘D-Day in HD’ Soundtrack Details
A&E Networks has released a soundtrack album for History’s event docu-series D-Day in HD. The album features the music from the two-part special by such composers as Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Ride Along), Trevor Morris (The Tudors, Immortals), Alastair King and more. Also included is the song Uprise by Phil X, Andrew Bojanic,Elizabeth Hooper & Randall Brent Cooke. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. D-Day in HD coincides with the 70th Anniversary of the Allied invasion of Nazi-held Europe and features rara footage combined with interviews from the men who lived through it, including Allied and German survivors.
