Max Aruj & Steffen Thum have composed the original music for the upcoming horror thriller Crawl. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Home) serves as the score producer of the film written and directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension, Piranha 3D) and starring Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper. The movie follows a young woman who becomes trapped in a flooding house during a Category 5 hurricane and must battle against Florida’s most savage and feared predators. Michael & Shawn Rasmussen (The Ward) wrote the screenplay.

‘Warning Shot’ Soundtrack Released
14th Street Music has released a soundtrack album for the indie drama Warning Shot. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Aruj (The Abandoned) & Steffen Thum (iBoy). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Warning Shot is directed Dustin Fairbanks and stars David Spade, Tammy Blanchard, Bruce Dern, James Earl Jones, Guillermo Diaz, Onata Aprile, Frank Whaley and Dwight Henry. The movie follows a single mom who inherits a farmhouse from her grandfather, when a family business rival sends armed men to take the water rights to the farm’s creek by force.
Soundtrack EP for ‘Ignite’ Short Film Released
14th Street Music has released a soundtrack EP for the documentary short Ignite. The EP features the film’s original score composed by Max Aruj & Steffen Thum (iBoy, Warning Shot) and produced by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Genius, The Crown). The soundtrack album is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Ignite is directed and produced by Ryan Moore (Manny) and was captured at Burning Man, the annual social experiment in Black Rock City, Nevada. Watch the full short after the jump.
Weekly TV Music Roundup (January 22, 2017)
Premiering on Thursday, January 26, is the new CW drama Riverdale based on the characters by Archie Comics and starring Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, Luke Perry, KJ Apa, Marisol Nichols, Mädchen Amick, Ashleigh Murray, Madelaine Petsch and Camila Mendes. The show’s original music is composed by Blake Neely (The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Blindspot). Premiering on Friday, January 27, is the Amazon original series Z: The Beginning of Everything created by Dawn Prestwich & Nicole Yorkin and starring Christina Ricci, Gavin Stenhouse, David Strathairn, Kristine Nielsen, Maya Kazan, Sarah Schenkkan, Jamie Anne Allman and Holly Curran. Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, The Affair, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd) is composing the show’s original music. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Friday. In addition to the nationwide expansion of The Revenant, the only movie opening wide is the supernatural thriller The Forest directed by Jason Zada, produced by David Goyer and starring Natalie Dormer, Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken and Yukiyoshi Ozawa. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, The Boy, Outlander). Opening in limited release is the indie drama Anesthesia written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson who also stars in the film alongside Kristen Stewart, Sam Waterston, Glenn Close, Gretchen Mol, Tim Blake Nelson, Corey Stoll and Michael K. Williams. Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, Tyrant, The Boondock Saints) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. Anesthesia revolves around the intersection of characters after the violent mugging of a Columbia University professor.
