Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have confirmed in a recent interview with Comicbook.com that Henry Jackman will return to score Marvel Studios’ Captain America 3. Chris Evans is returning to star in the title role as Steve Roger in the currently untitled sequel. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (The Chronicles of Narnia series, Thor: The Dark World) who penned the previous installment in the series are writing the screenplay. No plot details have been announced yet. Kevin Feige (The Avengers, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy) is once again producing the project for Marvel. Jackman previously scored this year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the Russo brothers while the first Captain America movie directed by Joe Johnston was scored by Alan Silvestri.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack & Score Album Details
The full details of the deluxe soundtrack edition for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy have been revealed. The release features the content of the previously announced soundtrack entitled Awesome Mix Vol. 1 featuring songs by Blue Swede, David Bowie, Norman Greenbaum, Jackson 5, The Runaways & more, as well as the film’s original score composed by Tyler Bates (300, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead). The composer’s score will also be released separately as a digital download. The deluxe edition will be released on July 29, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro. The comic book adaptation will be released nationwide on August 1, 2014 by Walt Disney Pictures.

Brian Tyler to Score ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’
Brian Tyler has officially signed on to score Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Age of Ultron. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and reunites the case of the original 2012 film, including Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders and Don Cheadle. James Spader will be portraying Ultron, the main villain in the film, while Elizabeth Olsen has been cast as the Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Paul Bettany as the Vision and Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker. Kevin Feige is producing the project.
‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Soundtrack Details
The details have been revealed of the soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The album features the film’s original music composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph, Captain Phillips). Also included is Marvin Gaye’s Trouble Man and a track by Harry James and his Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released on April 1, 2014 by Hollywood Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily Van Camp, Hayley Atwell and Robert Redford. The sequel is set after the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers and follows Steve Rogers/Captain America as he is living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world.
Steven Price to Score Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’
Edgar Wright has announced on Twitter that he will be scoring the director’s upcoming comic book film adaptation of Ant-Man. The film will star Paul Rudd in the title role of Scott Lang/Ant-Man, the superhero who can change size via an invented substance and can communicate with insects. Michael Douglas will be portraying scientist Hank Pym and Michael Pena has also been cast in an undisclosed role. Wright has also co-written the screenplay with Joe Cornish (Attack the Block). Kevin Feige (Iron Man, The Avengers, Thor, Captain America) is producing the Marvel Studios production. Price has previously scored Wright’s last feature The World’s End, as well as the Wright-produced horror comedy Attack the Block.
Tyler Bates to Score Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’
Director James Gunn has confirmed on his Facebook page that Tyler Bates will be composing the score for Marvel’s upcoming superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy. The film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Benicio del Toro, Karen Gillian, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace and Dave Bautista. Vin Diesel is also in talks to join the film’s cast. The movie based on the Marvel Comics characters created by Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning follows a U.S pilot who bands with a group of ex-cons from other planets after he’s thrust in the middle of a universal conflict. Gunn is writing and directing the project and Kevin Feige (The Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk) is producing the movie for Marvel Studios.
Bear McCreary to Score Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’
Bear McCreary has been tapped to score Marvel’s highly anticipated TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. The show from executive producers Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) marks Marvel’s first television series. Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost) also serve as executive producers of the ABC Studios and Marvel Television production. The show stars Clark Gregg who reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films and follows him as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennett are co-starring. Whedon also directed the pilot episode. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to premiere this fall and will air every Tuesday night on ABC.
Brian Tyler to Score ‘Thor: The Dark World’
Brian Tyler has signed on to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero sequel Thor: The Dark World. The film is directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. The movie takes place in the aftermath of The Avengers and follows Thor as he battles to save all the Nine Realms from a mysterious enemy older than the universe itself. Kevin Feige is producing the project for Marvel Studios. As previously reported, Carter Burwell was originally hired to score the film.
‘Iron Man 3’ Soundtrack Details
Hollywood Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for Marvel’s Iron Man 3. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Brian Tyler (Eagle Eye, Fast Five, The Expendables). The soundtrack will be released on April 30, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out the full track list after the jump. As previously reported, the label will also release a soundtrack featuring songs from and inspired by the film on the same day. Iron Man 3 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley will be released nationwide on May 3, 2013 by Walt Disney Pictures.
