Varese Sarabande Records has announced the details for the Scream 4 score album. The soundtrack includes 21 tracks of Marco Beltrami’s original score from the film. The album will be released on April 19 and can be pre-ordered at Amazon. As previously reported, another soundtrack with songs from the movie and 2 tracks from Beltrami’s score will be released on April 12 by Lakeshore Records (audio clips are available below and on Amazon). 
Scream 4 directed by Wes Craven stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette, Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts and Rory Culkin and will be released on April 15.

‘Scream 4’ Soundtrack Status
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the upcoming horror sequel Scream 4. The soundtrack includes 10 songs from the movies from such artists as The Sounds, Ida Maria, The Novocains, The Chain Gang of 1974, 6 Day Riot and Locksey. In addition, the album contains 2 score cues by composer Marco Beltrami. The soundtrack will be released on April 12, 2011 and can be pre-ordered at Amazon. A separate score album featuring Beltrami’s score has been announced to be released on April 19 by Varese Sarabande Records. Details on the score album will be posted when they become available. Marco Beltrami scoring ‘Soul Surfer’
According to the film’s teaser trailer, Marco Beltrami is writing the music for the family sports drama Soul Surfer. The movie is directed by Sean McNamara (Raise Your Voice, Bratz) and stars AnnaSophia Robb, Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Craig T. Nelson and Carrie Underwood. In the film, a young, teenage surfer girl summons the courage to go back into the ocean after losing an arm in a shark attack. As previously reported, Beltrami also has the horror thriller The Thing and the horror sequel Scream 4 coming out this year. The Thing was recently pushed back from its original April release date to October 14, 2011, while Scream 4 is still set to open on April 15.
Marco Beltrami to score The Thing prequel and Scream 4
Marco Beltrami has been hired to score the upcoming horror thriller The Thing. The prequel’s story takes place before the actions of the 1982 classic directed by John Carpenter. The movie directed by Matthijs van Heijingen Jr. is set in the Antarctica where a discovery full of scientific possibility becomes a mission of survival when an alien is unearthed by a crew of international scientists. The Thing stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eric Christian Olsen and Joel Edgerton. Universal Pictures has set a April 29, 2011 release date for the movie.
Beltrami takes over Jonah Hex
Film Music Reporter has learned that Marco Beltrami has taken over scoring duties on the comic book adaptation Jonah Hex. He is replacing John Powell, who reportedly was working on the score with the heavy metal band Mastodon last fall. No word yet if any of Mastodon’s music will stay in the picture. Jonah Hex is set in the Wild West, where a scarred bounty hunter tracks a voodoo practitioner bent on liberating the South by raising an army of the undead. The movie is directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears A Who!) and stars Megan Fox, Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Michael Shannon. Warner Bros has the movie scheduled to be released on June 18.
Beltrami and Sanders discussing The Hurt Locker score
A new video interview with composers Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders who were nominated for an Academy Award for their score for The Hurt Locker was recently uploaded at Hikari Takano’s interview page. In the interview, Beltrami and Sanders talk about their collaboration, the Oscar nomination, as well as their work on this year’s Best Picture winner. Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders, who have been nominated for an Academy Award for their score for The Hurt Locker have recently been doing the press round to promote the score before the Oscars on March 7.

Beltrami to score The Sunset Limited
Marco Beltrami recently finished working on the score for the HBO movie The Sunset Limited. The movie is based on the Cormac McCarthy (No Country For Old Men, The Road) novel and stars Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. The project reunites director Tommy Lee Jones with Beltrami who previously collaborated on The Three Burials of Melquiadas Estrada and will premiere on HBO later this year. Beltrami also has the Sci-Fi thriller Repo Men coming up next month and finished the score to the Wes Craven directed horror movie My Soul To Take a while ago. He is currently working on the Guillermo del Toro produced horror thriller Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, which should be released later this year.
