Globe will release a soundtrack EP for the coming-of-age comedy How to Build a Girl. The 6-track EP features the songs from the movie performed by actor Alfie Allen, as well as GIRLI and Casimir Bowyer. Also included is a track from the original score from the film composed by Oli Julian (Catastrophe, Breeders, Code 404, Sex Education, Episodes). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 24 and will be available to stream/download here. How to Build a Girl is directed by Coky Giedroyc and stars Beanie Feldstein, Allen, Paddy Considine, Chris O’Dowd, Lucy Punch and Jameela Jamil. The movie is based on British author Caitlin Moran’s semiautobiographical novel of the same title and follows a working-class teenager who tries to reinvent herself as a hip London music critic.

Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the movie musical Valley Girl directed by Rachel Goldenberg and starring Jessica Rothe, Chloe Bennet, Ashleigh Murray, Joshua Whitehouse, Mae Whitman, Mario Revolori, Judy Greer, Alicia Silverstone and Camila Morrone. The film’s original score is composed by Roger Neill (King of the Hill, Beginners, 20th Century Women, Like Father). Harvey Mason Jr. serves as the project’s music producer. Opening in select (drive-in and virtual) theaters and other pop-up venues is the documentary Spaceship Earth directed by Matt Wolf about a group of countercultural visionaries who built an enormous replica of earth’s ecosystem called Biosphere 2 in 1991. Owen Pallett (Her, The Box, Life) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is in the works. This week, Oli Julian (Sex Education, Catastrophe, Episodes, Plebs) is recording his score for the upcoming coming-of-age comedy How to Build a Girl. The film is directed by Coky Giedroyc (Harlots, The Hour) and stars Beanie Feldstein in the title role, alongside Emma Thompson, Chris O’Dowd, Alfie Allen, Paddy Considine and Sarah Solemani. The movie is based on Caitlin Moran’s best-selling book of the same title and follows a smart, opinionated and overweight 16-year-old girl who is desperate to get out of her hometown and make a name for herself and decides reinvent herself as Dolly Wilde, a rock music critic.
