Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the movie musical Valley Girl directed by Rachel Goldenberg and starring Jessica Rothe, Chloe Bennet, Ashleigh Murray, Joshua Whitehouse, Mae Whitman, Mario Revolori, Judy Greer, Alicia Silverstone and Camila Morrone. The film’s original score is composed by Roger Neill (King of the Hill, Beginners, 20th Century Women, Like Father). Harvey Mason Jr. serves as the project’s music producer. Opening in select (drive-in and virtual) theaters and other pop-up venues is the documentary Spaceship Earth directed by Matt Wolf about a group of countercultural visionaries who built an enormous replica of earth’s ecosystem called Biosphere 2 in 1991. Owen Pallett (Her, The BoxLife) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is in the works. Also opening theatrically and on VOD today is the coming-of-age comedy How to Build a Girl directed by Coky Giedroyc and starring Beanie Feldstein, Emma Thompson, Chris O’Dowd, Alfie Allen, Paddy Considine and Sarah Solemani. The film’s original music is composed by Oli Julian (Sex EducationCatastrophe, Breeders, Code 404, EpisodesPlebs). No soundtrack album has been released. Opening on VOD is the drama Walkaway Joe directed by Tom Wright and starring David Strathairn, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Julie Ann Emery and Julian Feder. Christophe Beck (FrozenAnt-ManEdge of TomorrowBuffy the Vampire Slayer, The Muppets) & Jake Monaco (Let’s Be CopsDumplin’, Keeping Up with the Joneses) have composed the film’s original music. Already available on VOD since yesterday is the indie drama Driveways directed by Andrew Ahn and starring Hong Chau, Lucas Jaye, Brian Dennehy and Christine Ebersole. Jay Wadley (IndignationTales of the CityThe OAAdamCruise) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also available on VOD now since this past Tuesday is the British drama Blue Story directed by Rapman and starring Stephen Odubola, Micheal Ward, Khali Best, Karla-Simone Spence, Eric Kofi-Abrefa and Kadeem Ramsey. The film’s original score is composed by Jonathon Deering. Roc Nation Records has released a soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the movie by Rapman, Buju Banton, Giggs, LD, Skrapz & others.
