Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2008 drama Adam Resurrected. The album features the film’s original music composed and orchestrated by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, City of Angels, The Lives of Others) who recorded his score at Abbey Road Studios in London. Adam Resurrected is directed by Paul Schrader (American Gigolo, Auto Focus) and stars Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe and Derek Jacobi. The movie takes place in the aftermath of World War II and follows a former circus entertainer who was spared from the gas chamber as he becomes the ringleader at an asylum for Holocaust survivors.

Music Box Records has announced a 25th anniversary soundtrack edition for the 1992 drama The Lover (L’amant) directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud (The Name of the Rose, Enemy at the Gates, Seven Years in Tibet) and starring Jane March and Tony Leung. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the movie composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain), including 20 minutes of previously unreleased music. Gabriel Yared Scoring ‘If You See His Heart’ (‘Si tu voyais son coeur’)
Gabriel Yared is composing the music for the upcoming French drama If You See His Heart (Si tu voyais son coeur). The film noir is directed by Joan Chemla and stars Gael Bernal Garcia and Marine Vacth. The movie follows a gypsy, excluded from his community after the death of his best friend, who finds solace in the figure of a woman. Pierre Guyard (Love at First Fight, This Summer Feeling) is producing the project for the Paris-based production company Nord-Ouest.
Gabriel Yared to Score Eric Styles’ ‘Bach’ Biopic
Gabriel Yared is attached to compose the score for the upcoming biographical drama Bach. The film is set to be directed by Eric Styles (Relative Values, Tempo, That Good Night) and will star Gérard Depardieu, Axel Milberg and Marianne Sagebrecht. The movie chronicles the life and passionate battles of the iconic German Baroque composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Jeffrey Freedman has written the screenplay and is also producing the project with S. J. Evans (Dead of the Nite).
Gabriel Yared to Score Xavier Dolan’s ‘The Death and Life of John F. Donovan’
Gabriel Yared is reteaming with director Xavier Dolan on the upcoming drama The Death and Life of John F. Donovan. The film marks Dolan’s English-language debut and stars Kit Harington, Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Ben Schnetzer, Michael Gambon, Bella Thorne, Thandie Newton, Chris Zylka and Emily Hampshire. The movie takes place in the early 2000’s and centers on the tribulations of an American TV star in his late twenties and his correspondence with Rupert Turner, a young actor-to-be living with his mother in England.

Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for Xavier Dolan’s drama It’s Only the End of the World (Juste la fin du monde). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain) who previously scored the director’s previous film Tom at the Farm. Also included are the songs featured in the movie by Camille, Blink-182, Grimes, Exotica and Moby. The physical version will be released later this week and is now available for pre-order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples. A digital version will be released later this year and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. It’s Only the End of the World is written and directed by Dolan and stars Marion Cotillard, Lea Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, Nathalie Baye and Gaspard Ulliel.
Gabriel Yared to Score Terry George’s ‘The Promise’
Gabriel Yared has been hired to score the upcoming drama The Promise. The film is directed by Terry George (Hotel Rwanda, Reservation Road) and stars Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac, Charlotte Le Bon, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, James Cromwell and Jean Reno. The movie is set in 1922 amid the final days of the Ottoman Empire and centers on a love triangle in 1922 with a medical student, an American journalist based in Paris and a beautiful and sophisticated woman. George has also written the screenplay with Robin Swicord (Memoirs of a Geisha, Little Women).

Gabriel Yared is reuniting with director Xavier Dolan on the upcoming drama It’s Only the End of the World (Juste la fin du monde). The film is written and directed by Dolan (Mommy, I Killed My Mother) and stars Marion Cotillard, Lea Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, Nathalie Baye and Gaspard Ulliel. The movie is based on a play by Jean-Luc Lagarce of the same name and follows a terminally ill writer who returns home after a long absence to tell his family that he is dying. Dolan is also producing the project with his producing partner Nancy Grant, alongside Nathanael Karmitz (On the Road, Certified Copy) and Sylvain Corbeil (Felix and Meira).
Roschdy Zem’s ‘Chocolat’ Soundtrack Details
Gaumont will release a soundtrack album for the French drama Chocolat. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 29, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. A CD version is also being released by Quartet Records. Chocolat is directed by actor Roschdy Zem and stars Omar Sy, James Thierree and Clothilde Hesme. The movie tells the life story of Padilla aka Chocolat, who became the first black artist to appear on a French stage in the 19th century and centers around his lifelong friendship with a white artist nicknamed Footit.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the holiday comedy Love the Coopers directed by Jessie Nelson and starring Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei and Olivia Wilde. The film’s original score is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Paddington). Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Otis Redding, Sixpence None the Richer, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, as well as track from the score. Also opening wide is the drama The 33 directed by Patricia Riggen and starring Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bob Gunton and Gabriel Byrne. James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man) has composed the film’s original music. The movie is also dedicated to the late composer. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring Horner’s score, as well as two songs by Cote de Pablo and Los Bunkers last week.
