Weekly Film Music Roundup (September 25, 2026)

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the psychological thriller Primetime directed by Lance Oppenheim and starring Robert Pattinson, Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Matthew Maher and Bokeem Woodbine. The film’s original score is composed by Ari Balouzian (Some Kind of Heaven, You Can See Everything, Monsters of God, Ren Faire, Atropia, Spermworld). A24 Music has releases a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original end credits song by Phoebe Bridgers today. Also opening wide is the survival thriller Heart of the Beast directed by David Ayer and starring Brad Pitt, J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. Jared Michael Fry (The Beekeeper, A Working Man, Safehouse) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. ‘Forgotten Island’ Soundtrack Album Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s feature Forgotten Island have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Nathan Matthew David (Joy Ride, Deadly Class, Chang Can Dunk,Young Rock, The Brothers Sun, The Last Word, Stephen Curry: Underrated, Slice). Also included are the songs from the movie (two of which are already available to stream/download now) performed by BINI, H.E.R., Liza Soberano, SB19 and others. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 18 by Back Lot Music (click here to pre-order). Mutant will release a CD version, audio cassette and vinyl edition, which all are also available for pre-order on Amazon. Forgotten Island is written and directed by Joel Crawford & Januel Mercado and stars H.E.R., Soberano, Dave Franco, Dolly de Leon, Jenny Slate, Jo Koy, Ronny Chieng, Manny Jacinto and Lea Salonga. The animated adventure follows two high school graduates and best friends who are now about to embark on separate life paths, when they stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to a fantastical island, packed with magical and mythological creatures they grew up hearing stories about from their Filipino families.

Back Lot Music has released the second track from the soundtrack for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Forgotten Island. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the original song BRB written by Ryan Tedder & H.E.R. and performed by H.E.R. & Liza Soberano (who star in the lead roles of Jo & Raissa). Also listen to the track after the jump. The label has previously released BINI’s original song A Parallel World as a digital single in July and will release a full soundtrack album on September 18. Forgotten Island is written and directed by Joel Crawford & Januel Mercado and also features the voices of Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Manny Jacinto, Ronny Chieng and Lea Salonga.

The film is directed by Joel Crawford (The Croods: A New Age) & Januel Mercado (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish) and features the voices of H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Dave Franco, Lea Salonga, Manny Jacinto and Jenny Slate. The movie tells the story of two lifelong best friends who find themselves stranded on the fantastic world of the forgotten island of Nakali, where they find that their only way home might come at the expense of a lifetime of memories and emotions.
