Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross & Jon Batiste Win Golden Globe for ‘Soul’
Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross & Jon Batiste have won the Golden Globe Award in the Original Score category for Pixar’s animated feature Soul. Reznor & Ross have previously received their first Golden Globe for David Fincher’s The Social Network and were also nominated this year for their music for Fincher’s Mank. The other composers nominated in the Best Original Score category were Ludwig Göransson (Tenet), Alexandre Desplat (The Midnight Sky) and James Newton Howard (News of the World). In the Original Song category, Diane Warren, Laura Pausini & Niccolo Agliardi won the award for the song Io Si (Seen) from Eduardo Ponti’s The Life Ahead. WM Italy has released the original song Io sì (Seen) from the drama The Life Ahead (La vita davanti a sé). The track is written by Academy Award nominee Diane Warren and performed by Laura Pausini. The Life Ahead is directed by Edoardo Ponti and stars Sophia Loren, Ibrahima Gueye, Renato Carpentieri, Diego Iosif Pirvu, Massimiliano Rossi, Abril Zamora and Babak Karimi. The movie is set in seaside Italy and tells the story of a Holocaust survivor with a daycare business who takes in a 12-year-old street kid who recently robbed her.

Shout! Studios announced today that Academy Award nominee Diane Warren has written an original song for the upcoming documentary Stuntwomen: The Untold Hollywood Story. The track, entitled Without a Net, is performed by country music singer/songwriter Mickey Guyton, and will be featured in the April Wright-directed movie, which tells the untold story about the unsung professionals, their struggles on screen to perform at the highest level, and their fight off-screen to be treated fairly and equally. Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum (Stockholm, Pennsylvania, Bird Karma, Don’t Look Deeper) has written the movie’s original score and Bonnie Greenberg serves as the executive music producer.
Anton Ernst’s & Tati Golykh’s ‘Finding Jack’ to Feature Original Score by Laurent Eyquem & Original Song by Diane Warren
Laurent Eyquem (Copperhead, Winnie Mandela, Nostalgia, USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage) is set to score the upcoming action drama Finding Jack. The film directed by Anton Ernst & Tati Golykh is based on Gareth Crocker’s novel of the same title about the existence and abandonment of more than 10,000 military dogs at the end of the Vietnam War. Academy Award nominee Diane Warren has composed an original song for the project. James Dean will (through CGI technology) posthumously star in the film. Ernst & Golykh are also producing the project for Magic City Films, alongside Donald A. Barton for Artistry Media Group.
