Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for Pixar Animation Studios’ Turning Red. The album features the movie’s original score composed by Academy Award and Grammy Award winner Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Tenet, Creed, Community, The Mandalorian). Also included are the film’s original songs written by Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated songwriters Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell and performed by the fictional boy band 4*Town (Jordan Fisher, Finneas, Topher Ngo Grayson Villanueva & Josh Levi). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on March 11 and is now available for pre-order here. Visit Amazon to order the CD version. Hans Zimmer Wins Golden Globe for ‘Dune’ Score
Hans Zimmer has received his third Golden Globe in the Original Score category for his score for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune at tonight’s 79th Golden Globe Awards ceremony. He previously his first two Golden Globes for 1994’s The Lion King and 2000’s Gladiator and was honored with multiple other nominations over the last three decades. The other composers nominated in the score category were Alexandre Desplat (The French Dispatch), Germaine Franco (Encanto), Jonny Greenwood (The Power of the Dog) and Alberto Iglesias (Parallel Mother).
Pixar’s ‘Turning Red’ to Feature Original Songs by Billie Eilish & FINNEAS
Disney announced today that Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriters Billie Eilish and FINNEAS have written three original songs for Pixar’s next animated feature Turning Red. The tracks were written for the fictional boy band 4*Town in the movie. A first song (Nobody Like U) is featured in the film’s latest trailer, which just premiered today and can be checked out after the jump. As previously reported, Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Tenet) has composed the original score for the movie, which is directed by Domee Shee and stars Rosalie Chiang, Sandra Oh, Orion Lee, Wai Ching Ho, Ava Morse, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Hyein Park, Tristan Allerick Chen, Addie Chandler, Jordan Fisher, Grayson Villanueva, Josh Levi, Topher Ngo and Finneas O’Connell.
Hildur Guðnadóttir Wins Grammy Award for ‘Joker’ Score
Hildur Guðnadóttir has won her second Grammy Award for her score for Todd Phillips’ Joker in the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category. She previously received an Academy Award and Golden Globe for her work on the film. The composer was honored with her first Grammy last year for her music for HBO’s Chernobyl in the same category. In the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media, Billie Eilish & Finneas won the award for the title song for the James Bond movie No Time to Die. In the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Visual Media category, Jojo Rabbit was the winner.
Original Song ‘Lo Vas A Olvidar’ from ‘Euphoria’ Special Episode ‘Part 2: Jules’ Released
Darkroom/Interscope Records has released the original song Lo Vas A Olvidar from the Euphoria special episode Part 2: Jules. The track, which is performed by Billie Eilish & ROSALÍA who also co-wrote the song with Pablo Diaz-Reixa and FINNEAS, is now available to stream/download here. The Euphoria special Part 2: Jules co-written and directed by Sam Levinson is titled F*ck Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob follows Jules (played by Hunter Schafer) over the Christmas holiday as she reflects on the year.
