Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Spanish Princess, The Bay, Anne, Domina, A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, The Halcyon, Home Fires) is the composer of the new MGM+/BBC limited series A Tale of Two Cities. The show is created by Daniel West (Gunpowder) based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel of the same title and stars Kit Harington, François Civil and Mirren Mack. The 4-part drama directed by Richard Clark (The Chemistry of Death) tells the story of three young people who collide on the streets of Georgian London, triggering a journey into the heart of Revolutionary France.

‘Ludwig’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Released
Silva Screen Records has released a new soundtrack album for the BBC comedy Ludwig. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Nathan Klein (101 Dalmation Street, Atomic, Film Club, MH370: The Plane That Disappeared, Titan: The OceanGate Disaster, The Beast Within, Psycho Therapu, McGregor Forever). BBC announced today that British composer and saxophonist (and leader of the jazz group SEED Ensemble) Cassie Kinoshi is set to score the upcoming BBC drama Open Water. The show is based on Caleb Azumah Nelson’s debut novel of the same title and stars Toheeb Jimoh, Dujonna Gift, Rhianna Dorris, Lamar Waves, Nadine Marshall, Henrietta Pearl Quartey, Sekou Diaby, Hope Ikpoku Jnr, Tara Tijani, Enva Lewis, Stevie Odu, Nash Nørgaard, Renee Bailey, Janina Elkin, Sherise Blackman, Jayden Fowora Knight, Matthew Dunster, Neve McDonnell, Javier Bonaparte, Beaux Bryant and Mo Sesa. Thomas Newman Scoring John Madden’s ‘Onwards and Sideways’
Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, Road to Perdition, 1917, Wall-E, The Horse Whisperer, Meet Joe Black, Elemental, Bridge of Spies) has provided the original score for the upcoming British drama Onwards and Sideways. The film is directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love, Quills) and stars Rhys Ifans, Laura Linney, Monica Dolan and Rory Kinnear. The movie explores the relationship between the deputy head of a primary school and composer and single mother of two daughters who are confronted with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease.
Christian Henson Scoring BBC’s ‘Ann Droid’
Christian Henson (The Devil’s Double, Black Death, Tommy’s Honour, Bank of Dave, Triangle, My Brother the Minotaur, Chasing Liberty, Wild Bill) is scoring the new BBC comedy Ann Droid. The show is created by Diane Morgan & Sarah Kendall (Frayed) and stars Morgan herself, alongside Sue Johnston, Paul Ready, Leila Hoffman, Michelle Greenidge, Richard Syms, Margot Leicester, Kendall and Kathryn Hunter. Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC nature documentary series Evolution.
