D.: The Birth of Christ. The film is directed by Alejandro Monteverde (Sound of Freedom, Cabrini) and stars Deva Cassel, Sam Worthington, Ben Mendelsohn, Gael García Bernal and Jim Caviezel. The movie follows a young Mary who will do anything to protect her newborn son from the murderous King Herod who is obsessed with finding and killing the child. .

Javier Navarrete’s ‘Sound of Freedom’ Score to Be Released
Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the dramatic thriller Sound of Freedom. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth, Wrath of the Titans, Antlers, The Devil’s Backbone, Byzantium, Greta, Inkheart). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 22. Available separately as a digital single is Justin Jesso’s title song from the movie. Sound of Freedom is co-written and directed by Alejandro Monteverde and stars Jim Caviezel, Bill Camp, Mira Sorvino, José Zúñiga, Kurt Fuller, Javier Godino and Eduardo Verástegui. The movie is based on the true story of Homeland Security agent Tim Ballard’s effort to rescue kidnapped children in Columbia.

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the biographical drama Cabrini. The album features the film’s original score composed by Gene Back (Shortcomings, Cowboys, Holler). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 8 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music, including Amazon. As previously reported, Decca Records has released the original song Dare to Be written by Back and performed by Andrea & Virginia Bocelli last month. Cabrini is directed by Alejandro Monteverde (Sound of Freedom) and stars Cristiana Dell’Anna, David Morse and John Lithgow. The movie tells the true story of Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini who stepped foot in America in 1889 and sets off on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to secure housing and healthcare for society’s most vulnerable and leverages her entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope unlike anything the world had ever see.

Gene Back to Score Alejandro Monteverde’s ‘Cabrini’ Biopic
Gene Back (Cowboys, Holler) has been hired to score the upcoming (currently untitled) biographical drama about Francesca Cabrini. The film is directed by Alejandro Monteverde (Little Boy, Sound of Freedom) and stars Christiana Dell’Anna, Montserrat Espadalé, Romana Maggiora Vergano, David Morse, Patch Darragh, John Lithgow, Jeremy Bobb, Andrew Polk, Giampiero Judica and Rolando Villazó. The movie tells the story of one of the greatest entrepreneurs of the 19th Century who started with nothing and created the largest multinational charitable empire the world had ever known. Rod Barr wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself and Monteverde.

Monteverde also co-wrote the screenplay with Rod Barr and Verastegui is also producing the project.

Stephan Altman and Mark Foster have composed the score for the upcoming drama Little Boy. The film is directed by Alejandro Monteverde and stars Jakob Salvati, Kevin James, Emily Watson, Michael Rappaport, David Henrie, Tom Wilkinson, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Sean Astin, Ben Chaplin and Ted Levine. The movie follows an eight-year-old boy who tries bring his father back from World War II. Monteverde has written the screenplay with Pepe Portillo and Leo Severino is producing the Metanoia Films production with Eduardo Verastegui who also stars in the movie.
