VoenFilm Studio has released a soundtrack album for the Russian World War II epic The Last Frontier (Podolskiye kursanty). The album features the film’s original music composed by Yuri Poteyenko (Nightwatch, Day Watch, Dark Planet, Leningrad, The Spy). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Last Frontier is co-written and directed by Vadim Shmelyov and stars Aleksey Bardukov, Evgeniy Dyatlov, Sergey Bezrukov, Lubov Konstantinova, Artyom Gubin and Igor Yudin. Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross & Jon Batiste Win Academy Award for ‘Soul’

Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Jon Batiste were honored with the Academy Award for their score for Pixar’s Soul at tonight’s 93rd Oscar ceremony. Reznor & Ross have previously received their first Oscar for their music for 2010’s The Social Network and were also nominated this year for their music for David Fincher’s Mank. The composers previously received the Golden Globe, Critic’ Choice Award and BAFTA Award for their work on the animated movie. Check out their acceptance speech after the jump. Premiering on Thursday, April 29, is the Netflix original film Things Heard & Seen written and directed by Robert Pulcini & Shari Springer Berman and starring Amanda Seyfried, James Norton, Natalia Dyer, Alex Neustaedter, Rhea Seehorn and F. Murray Abraham. The movie’s original music is composed by Peter Raeburn (Woodshock, The Dry, Nancy, Tell Me Your Secrets, Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism, Photograph). Also premiering on Thursday is the Netflix anime series Yasuke created by LeSean Thomas and starring LaKeith Stanfield, Takehiro Hira, Maya Tanida, Ian Chen, Ming-Na Wen, Gwendoline Yeo, Noshir Dalal, Darren Criss, Paul Nakauchi and Dia Frampton. Flying Lotus has composed the show’s original music. Warp Records has released a digital single featuring the artist’s opening theme and closing credits music earlier this week. Octopus Records has released a soundtrack album for the Italian Sky original series Anna. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Rauelsson. Anna is created and directed by Niccolò Ammaniti based on his novel of the same title and stars Giulia Dragotto and Alessandro Pecorel. Opening nationwide today is the action fantasy movie Mortal Kombat directed by Simon McQuoid and starring Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Mehcad Brooks, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, Chin Han and Hiroyuki Sanada. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Shazam!, Annabelle Creation, Lights Out). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week.
