Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD Club series, including a deluxe edition soundtrack for the 2009 sci-fi thriller Knowing directed by Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, Rose Byrne and Chandler Canterbury. The album features the expanded original score from the movie composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream, A Quiet Place, The Hurt Locker, Logan, The Wolverine, Ford v. Ferrari), including around 50 minutes of previously unreleased music. The details of the full soundtrack album for the new Netflix anime series Yasuke have been revealed. The album features selection of the original music from the show composed by Flying Lotus (Imperial Dreams, Perfect, An Oversimplification of Her Beauty) The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 30 and will be available to stream/download here. A CD & vinyl edition will be coming out on September 24 and is available to order on Amazon. The label has previously released the opening titles and closing credits music earlier this month. Yasuke is created by LeSean Thomas and stars LaKeith Stanfield, Takehiro Hira, Maya Tanida, Gwendoline Yeo, Ian Chen, Ming-Na Wen, Noshir Dalal, Paul Nakauchi, Darren Criss and Dia Frampton. The series tells the story of a peaceful boatman once known as the Black Samurai as he is pulled back into conflict when he takes a little girl with mysterious powers under his wing. Composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Silence of the Lambs, The Aviator, Hugo, The Hobbit) is set to reteam with David Cronenberg on the upcoming sci-fi thriller Crimes of the Future. The film is written and directed by Cronenberg and will star Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar and Lihi Kornowski. The movie is set in the not-so-distant future where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings and follows a performance artist who has embraced “Accelerated Evolution Syndrome”, sprouting new and unexpected organs in his body and has turned the removal of these organs into a spectacle for his loyal followers.
