The track written by the show’s music director John Kavanaugh & executive producer Chelsea Beyl, produced by Kavanaugh & Danny Jacob and performed by Libby Rue (who stars in the title role) is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Michael Giacchino (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Lost, Jurassic World, Star Trek, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Doctor Strange, War for the Planet of the Apes) has recently been scoring Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming feature Lightyear. The film is directed by Angus MacLane and stars Chris Evans in the title role. The sci-fi action adventure tells the origin story of Buzz Lightyear – the hero who inspired the toy – introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans. The Cinema Audio Society has announced the nominees for the 58th Annual CAS Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing. For the past couple of years, scoring mixers have been recognized alongside production, re-recording, ADR and foley mixers. In the Motion Pictures – Live Action category, the scoring mixers honored include Alan Meyerson for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune (scored by Hans Zimmer), Stephen Lipson for Cary Fukunaga’s No Time to Die (also scored by Zimmer), Warren Brown for Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (music by Michael Giacchino), Graeme Stewart for Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog (scored by Jonny Greenwood) and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. Drag City has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Whirlybird. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ty Segall. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 22, 2022 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Whirlybird is produced and directed by Matt Yoka and centers on a husband-and-wife helicopter news team who covered some of the Los Angeles most historic events, and in doing so changed breaking news forever.
