Premiering on Thursday, July 21, is the HBO Max original series Rap Sh!t created by Issa Rae and starring Aida Osman, Jonica Booth, KaMillion, Devon Terrell and RJ Cyler. The show’s original music is composed by Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, Passing, We Are Who We Are, Mainstream, Palo Alto, In Treatment). Also premiering in the U.S. on Thursday is the British mini-series Showtrial created by Ben Richards and starring Tracy Ifeachor, Celine Buckens, Sharon D. Clarke, Sinead Keenan, Lolita Chakrabarti and Kerr Logan. Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Spanish Princess, Domina, The Halcyon) has composed the show’s original music. Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the drama premiered in the UK on BBC One. Daniel Wohl (Project Blue Book, Search Party, The Weekend Away, The Stand In, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead) has recently been scoring the upcoming drama On the Come Up. The film marks the directorial debut of actress Sanaa Lathan and stars Jamila C. Gray, Lathan herself, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Lil Yachty, Method Man, Mike Epps, GaTa, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Titus Makin Jr. and Michael Anthony Cooper Jr. The movie is based on the best-selling YA novel by Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give) and follows a young black girl who attempts to take the battle rap scene by storm in order to do right by the legacy of her father and to help her family climb out of poverty. Patrick Stump’s ‘Glow Webs Glow’ from ‘Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends’ Season 2 Released

Walt Disney Records has released the new song Glow Webs Glow from the second season of the Disney Junior animated series Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends. The track is written and performed by the show’s Grammy Award-nominated composer/songwriter Patrick Stump (of Fall Out Boy) and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also check out the official music video after the jump. The label has previously released a soundtrack EP featuring Stump’s songs from Season 1. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the mystery drama Where the Crawdads Sing directed by Olivia Newman and starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson and David Strathairn. The film’s original music is composed by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Capote, Moneyball, Little Miss Sunshine, The Good Dinosaur, Onward). Mercury Classics has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Carolina written and performed by Taylor Swift today. Also opening wide is the animated comedy Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank directed by Rob Minkoff, Mark Koetsier & Chris Bailey and starring Michael Cera, Ricky Gervais, George Takei, Mel Brooks, Michelle Yeoh and Samuel L. Jackson. Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Outlander, The Walking Dead) has composed the film’s original score. Sparks and Shadows has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as two songs written by Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner. ‘Return of the Killer Tomatoes’ Soundtrack Album Released

Dragon’s Domain Records has released the first-ever soundtrack album for the 1988 horror comedy Return of the Killer Tomatoes co-written and directed by John De Bello and starring Anthony Starke, George Clooney, Karen Mistal, Steve Lundquist and John Astin. The album features the original music from the first Attack of the Killer Tomatoes sequel composed by Rick Patterson (Happy Hour, Killer Tomatoes Strike Back!, Killer Tomatoes Eat France!). The soundtrack is now available to download on the label’s official website and is also available to stream/download on all other major digital music services, including Amazon. René G. Boscio (Emergency, 30 Miles from Nowhere, The Time Capsule, Like Dogs) has been hired to score the upcoming Freeform original series The Watchful Eye. The show is created by Julie Durk (Grace & Frankie, Laws of Attraction) and stars Mariel Molino, Warren Christie, Kelly Bishop, Jon Ecker, Lex Lumpkin, Henry Joseph Samiri and Aliyah Royale. The drama follows a young woman with a complicated past as she is maneuvering her way into working as a live-in nanny for an affluent family in Manhattan and quickly learns that everyone in the mysterious building has deadly secrets and ulterior motives. Timely Tunes has released a soundtrack album for the war drama Firebird. The album features the film’s original music composed by Krzysztof A. Janczak (The Whaler Bird, Even Mice Belong in Heaven, Miracle) with piano solo by Leszek Możdżer. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Firebird is co-written and directed by Peeter Rebane and stars Tom Prior, Oleg Zagorodnii, Diana Pozharskaya, Margus Prangel, Jake-Thomas Henderson and Nicholas Woodeson. The movie is set during the Cold War and follows a handsome, soulful young soldier who embarks on a clandestine sexual affair with a charismatic fighter pilot on an Air Force Base at the height of 1970’s Communist rule.
