Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ animated series Cars on the Road. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Jake Monaco (Dumplin’, Flora & Ulysses, Let’s Be Cops, Forky Asks a QuestionJerry & Marge Go LargeLamp Life, Out). Also included is the main title song written by Monaco & Bobby Podesta and performed by Bobby Hamrick (check out the main title sequence after the jump), as well as two other songs performed by the series’ voice cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 5 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Cars on the Road is directed by Steve Purcell, Podesta & Brian Fee, produced by Marc Sondheimer and stars Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy. The Pixar Animation Studios production follows Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister. Premiering in the U.S. today is the Showtime sports documentary McEnroe directed by Barney Douglas about the tennis legend and four-time US Open champion. The film’s original music is composed by The Maccabees guitarist and songwriter Felix White (The Edge). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released digitally this summer and a vinyl edition will be coming out in 2023. Premiering on Thursday, September 8, is the Disney+ original movie Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, Keegan-Michael Key and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Avengers: Endgame, Forrest Gump, Cast Away) has composed the film’s original score and also co-wrote original songs with Glen Ballard. emmysDavid Schwartz has won his first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for his score for the Amazon documentary Lucy and Desi at today’s first night of the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. He has previously been Emmy-nominated three times for his Arrested Development score and his main title theme music from Deadwood: The Movie and Wolf Lake. Felix White (of the indie rock band The Maccabees) has released a soundtrack album for the Showtime sports documentary McEnroe. The album features the composer/songwriter/guitarist’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. A limited vinyl edition (in different variants) is set to come out next year and is available to order here. McEnroe is directed by Barney Douglas (who previously collaborated with White on 2019’s The Edge) and centers on the four-time US Open champion from New York as he explores his pursuit of perfection, his rockstar lifestyle and painful personal life and shares his losses of mental health and family life to win at all costs. John Williams has premiered a new theme from his score for the upcoming fifth installment in the Indiana Jones series at tonight’s Maestro of the Movies – Celebrating John Williams at 90 concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Helena’s Theme is written for the character played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the untitled sequel. Check out several videos of the performance shared on social media below. Opening in theaters nationwide while also premiering on Peacock today is the satirical comedy Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. written and directed by Adamma Ebo and starring Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown. The film’s original music is composed by Marcus Norris. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the drama Gigi & Nate directed by Nick Hamm and starring Charlie Rowe, Josephine Langford, Zoe Colleti, Hannah Alligood, Marcia Gay Harden,  Jim Belushi and Diane Ladd. Paul Leonard-Morgan (LimitlessDredd, Tales from the Loop, Wormwood, Dynasty) has composed the film’s original score and also co-wrote an original end credits song. A soundtrack album is in the works. Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires EverywhereThe Offer, Physical, Sex/Life) has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original film Lady Chatterley’s Lover. The movie is directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (The Mustang) and stars Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell, Joely Richardson, Matthew Duckett, Faye Marsay and Ella Hunt. The drama is based on the classic D.H. Lawrence novel of the same name and tells the story of a woman born to a life of wealth and privilege, who soon finds herself married to a man that she eventually falls out of love with and engages in a torrid affair with a gamekeeper on their English estate. The album features the composer’s original score from the movie and will be released digitally on September 22 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. A first track (Crossing the River) is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out after the jump. South of Heaven is co-written and directed by Aharon Keshales and stars Jason Sudeikis, Evangeline Lilly, Mike Colter, Shea Whigham, Michael Paré, Jeremy Bobb and Amaury Nolasco. The movie follows a convicted felon who gets early parole after serving twelve years for armed robbery and, upon release from prison, vows to give his childhood love, who is dying from cancer, the best last year of her life.
