Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ animated series Cars on the Road. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Jake Monaco (Dumplin’, Flora & Ulysses, Let’s Be Cops, Forky Asks a Question, Jerry & Marge Go Large, Lamp Life, Out). Also included is the main title song written by Monaco & Bobby Podesta and performed by Bobby Hamrick (check out the main title sequence after the jump), as well as two other songs performed by the series’ voice cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 5 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Cars on the Road is directed by Steve Purcell, Podesta & Brian Fee, produced by Marc Sondheimer and stars Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy. The Pixar Animation Studios production follows Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister. Premiering in the U.S. today is the Showtime sports documentary McEnroe directed by Barney Douglas about the tennis legend and four-time US Open champion. The film’s original music is composed by The Maccabees guitarist and songwriter Felix White (The Edge). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released digitally this summer and a vinyl edition will be coming out in 2023. Premiering on Thursday, September 8, is the Disney+ original movie Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, Keegan-Michael Key and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Avengers: Endgame, Forrest Gump, Cast Away) has composed the film’s original score and also co-wrote original songs with Glen Ballard. David Schwartz Wins Emmy Award for ‘Lucy and Desi’ Score

David Schwartz has won his first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for his score for the Amazon documentary Lucy and Desi at today’s first night of the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. He has previously been Emmy-nominated three times for his Arrested Development score and his main title theme music from Deadwood: The Movie and Wolf Lake. John Williams Premieres ‘Helena’s Theme’ from ‘Indiana Jones 5’ at Hollywood Bowl Concert

John Williams has premiered a new theme from his score for the upcoming fifth installment in the Indiana Jones series at tonight’s Maestro of the Movies – Celebrating John Williams at 90 concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Helena’s Theme is written for the character played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the untitled sequel. Check out several videos of the performance shared on social media below. The movie is directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (The Mustang) and stars Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell, Joely Richardson, Matthew Duckett, Faye Marsay and Ella Hunt. The drama is based on the classic D.H. Lawrence novel of the same name and tells the story of a woman born to a life of wealth and privilege, who soon finds herself married to a man that she eventually falls out of love with and engages in a torrid affair with a gamekeeper on their English estate. ‘South of Heaven’ Soundtrack Album Announced

David Fleming (Hillbilly Elegy, The Unforgivable, Blue Planet II, The Perfect Guy) will release a soundtrack album for the crime thriller South of Heaven. The album features the composer’s original score from the movie and will be released digitally on September 22 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix original film series Ivy + Bean. The album features the movies’ original music composed by Michael Yezerski (Blindspotting, The Tax Collector, The Vigil, Feel the Beat, The Devil’s Candy, Mental). Also included are the songs Get Along by beabadoobee, Rules R Made 2 B Broken by Salem Ilese, and Two Left Feet by Tayla Parx and Harloe.
