Ariel Marx (Dying for Sex, CandyShiva Baby, The Last Frontier, A Small Light, Sanctuary, A Friend of the Family, Murdaugh: Death in the Family, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) has composed the original score for the new BBC drama Two Weeks in August. The show is created by Catherine Shepherd and stars Jessica Raine, Leila Farzad, Damien Molony, Nicholas Pinnock, Hugh Skinner, Antonia Thomas, Tom Goodman-Hill and Dolly Wells. The series tells the story of a woman who goes on holiday with her family and friends to rediscover joy in her life, but what starts with an illicit kiss quickly turns the dream vacation into a nightmare. Sherherd is also executive producing the Various Artists production with Roberto Troni (I May Destroy You, Our Girl), Kat Reynolds, as well as Tom George (See How They Run, This Country) who is also directing. Two Weeks in August is premiering in the UK tonight on BBC One and will also be available to stream on the BBCiPlayer.

Marx’s other recent projects include Zaachary Wigon’s Victorian Psycho, which just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters on September 25 by Bleecker Street.
