La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1965 James Bond movie Thunderball directed by Terence Young and starring Sean Connery, Claudine Auger, Adolfo Celi, Rik Van Nutter, Luciana Paluzzi and Guy Doleman. The 60th Anniversary Edition album features the remastered and expanded original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa, Goldfinger, Somewhere in Time, Body Heat, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service), including previously unreleased music. Also included is Tom Jones’ title song written by Barry and lyricist Don Black, as well as the song Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang written by by Barry and lyricist Leslie Bricusse in two different versions performed by Dionne Warwick and Shirley Bassey. The 2-CD set, which is limited to 5,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also find out more about the release and listen to audio samples. Jeremiah Fraites (of the folk band The Lumineers) has written the original score for the upcoming biographical drama Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere. The film is written and directed by Scott Cooper (Black Mass, Crazy Heart) and stars Jeremy Allen White in the title role, Jeremy Strong as his long-time confidant and manager, Jon Landau, as well as Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffman and David Krumholtz. The movie is based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere by Warren Zanes and chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album that marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works.
