Netflix Music has released a soundtrack EP for the streamer’s new original animated series Dr. Seuss’s Horton!. The 6-track EP features the original songs from the show’s written by Rob Cantor. ‘Faithless’ Soundtrack Album Released

MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album for the Swedish limited series Faithless (Trolösa). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed and conducted by Hans Ek (Se upp för Jönssonligan). Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British miniseries Brian and Maggie written by James Graham, directed by Stephen Frears and starring Steve Coogan, Harriet Walter, Paul Clayton, Tom Mothersdale and Ivan Kaye. The show’s original music is composed by Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Gentleman Jack, Torchwood, Dead Ringers, A Very English Scandal, Moonflower Murders, It’s a Sin, Quiz). The 2-parter, which follows politician-turned-journalist Brian Walden and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as they sit for one of the most famous political exchanges of all time in 1989, premiered in the UK this past January on Channel 4 and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of Masterpiece.
Also premiering tonight is the PBS Masterpiece series Maigret developed by Patrick Harbinson based on Georges Simenon’s bestselling novels and starring Benjamin Wainwright, Stefanie Martini, Blake Harrison, Kerrie Hayes, Reda Elazouar, Shaniqua Okwok, Rob Kazinsky and Nathalie Armin. Uele Lamore (The Balconettes, The Apology, Above Water) has composed the show’s original music. The crime drama, which follows the Chief Inspecto and his team of maverick but loyal detectives as they solve a series of complex crimes in Paris, will air in the U.S. every Sunday night on PBS. The track (originally written by Darryl Hall for Hall & Oates and later covered by Paul Young in a version that appeared in the Candy-starring Planes, Trains and Automobiles) is produced (with Will Wells) and performed by Cynthia Erivo and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the biographical sports drama The Smashing Machine written and directed by Benny Safdie and starring Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Ryan Bader, Bas Rutten, Oleksandr Usyk, Lyndsey Gavin, James Moontasri, Satoshi Ishii, Yoko Hamamura, Stephen Quadros and Jason Tremblay. The film’s original music is composed by Belgian experimental jazz musician Nala Sinephro who has made her feature scoring debut on the project. Also opening wide this weekend is the horror thriller Bone Lake written and directed by Mercedes Byrce Morgan and starring Maddie Hasson, Alex Roe, Marco Pigossi and Andra Nechita. Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, The Machinist, Evil Dead, In the Heart of the Sea, Come Play, Sexy Beast, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, The Killer’s Game) and Ben Cherney (The Kids Are Alright 2) have composed the film’s original music.
