Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Argentinian Disney+/Hulu original series The Absent Voice (La voz ausente). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Sergei Grosny (Intertwined, FreeKs, Coppola, the Agent, Ringo: Glory and Death, The Roar of the Butterflies). Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Road to Perdition, 1917, Skyfall, Finding Nemo) & Julia Newman (At the Gates, American Horror Stories) have teamed up to compose the music for the upcoming Netflix limited series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. The show is created by Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story) & Ian Brennan (Glee, The Watcher) and stars Javier Bardem, Chloë Sevigny, Cooper Koch, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Nathan Lane, Ari Graynor, Leslie Grossman and Dallas Roberts. The second season of the Monster true crime anthology series (following 2022’s Nick Cave- & Warren Ellis-scored Dahmer) chronicles the case of the real-life brothers who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez. The Foolshed has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi romantic comedy If You Were the Last. The movie based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s bestselling memoir is set in Brazil, 1971 as the country faces the tightening grip of a military dictatorship and tells the story of a mother of five children who is forced to reinvent herself after her family suffers a violent and arbitrary act by the government. Mark Orton (Nebraska, The Holdovers, The Good Girl, My Old Lady, Love Hard, 12 Mighty Orphans) has composed the original score for the upcoming drama On Swift Horses. The film is directed by Daniel Minahan (Halston, Marco Polo) and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, Diego Calva and Sasha Calle. The movie based Shannon Pufahl’s 2019 novel of the same title is set in the 1950s and follows a seemingly sensible newlywed and her wayward brother-in-law as they undertake parallel journeys of risk, romance, and self-discovery.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the psychological thriller Blink Twice co-written and directed by Zoë Kravitz and starring Naomi Ackie, Channing Tatum, Adria Arjona, Kyle MacLachlan, Christian Slater, Haley Joel Osment, Simon Rex, Geena Davis and Alia Shawkat. The film’s original music is composed by Chanda Dancy (Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Devotion, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, The Defeated, Aftershock). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the action thriller The Crow directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Bill Skarsgard, FKA Twigs, Sami Bouajila, Karel Dobry, Jordan Bolger, Josette Simon, Laura Birn and Danny Huston. Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Hotel Mumbai, Lion, Adrift, Patrick Melrose, The Old Guard, Ammonite) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. Platitude Music will release a soundtrack album for the indie sci-fi romantic comedy The Becomers. The album features the film’s original music composed and performed by Fritz Myers (Sushi Girl, White Reindeer, The Harrow, Little Sister). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 23 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The composer’s end titles track is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out after the jump.
