Craft Recordings will release a new soundtrack album for the 1965 movie musical classic The Sound of Music directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Peggy Wood, Richard Haydn, Charmian Carr and Eleanor Parker. The album features expanded, remastered and remixed music from the film, including both the Rodgers/Hammerstein songs, as well as the movie’s score by Irwin Kostal. The soundtrack, which includes 40 previously unreleased tracks, will be released digitally and physically (as a 4-CD/1-Blu-Ray audio box set, which features the full score in hi-res audio as well as a new Dolby Atmos mix of the original 16-track soundtrack) on December 1, 2023. Grande Ourse has released a soundtrack album for the French romantic comedy New Beginnings (Nouveau départ). The album features the film’s original music composed by Philippe Kelly (Mr & Mme Adelman, Menteur). Walt Disney Records has released the theme song from the Disney Channel animated series Chibiverse. The track, entitled Welcome to the Chibiverse, written by Rob Cantor & Dan Siegel and performed by Cantor himself & Baraka May is now available to stream/download as a digital single on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Milan Records/Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the British/French drama The Great Escaper. The album features the film’s original music composed by Grammy Award winner Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!Love Actually, Romeo + JulietThe Great Gatsby, The Incredible Hulk, Ray) The soundtrack is expected to be released digitally next Friday, October 6 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services (including Amazon). A CD version is also being released overseas and is available for pre-order as an import on Amazon. The Great Escaper is directed by Oliver Parker, written by William Ivory and stars Michael Caine, Glenda Jackson and John Standing. Because Music will release a soundtrack album for Luc Besson’s thriller Dogman. The album features the film’s original music composed, arranged and produced by Eric Serra (Leon: The Professional, GoldenEye, The Fifth Element, Lucy, La Femme NikitaThe Big Blue). Also included is the song Autumn Star performed by Sateen, as well as Edith Piaf’s No Regrets & Non, je ne regrette rien. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 27 (click here to stream/download). A CD version will be coming out next month and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dogman is written and directed by Besson and stars Caleb Landry Jones, Jojo T. Gibbs, Clemens Schick, Christopher Denham and Grace Palma.
