2025 BAFTA Awards Original Score Longlist Announced

bafta1The British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) today announced the longlists for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2025. This longlisting round was introduced in 2021, resulting in three rounds of voting. Round One voting produced the longlists in all categories announced today. 118 films were submitted for consideration. Round Two voting, to determine the nominations, is opening today to BAFTA’s voting members and will close on January 12. The nominations for the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2025 will be announced on January 15 and the ceremony will take place on February 16. Read the rest of this entry »

Sydney-based singer/songwriter Nick Ward has made his feature scoring debut on the upcoming drama Jimpa. The film is directed by Sophie Hyde (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, 52 Tuesdays) and stars Olivia Colman, John Lithgow and Aud Mason-Hyde. The movie follows a mother who takes her nonbinary teenager to Amsterdam to visit their gay grandfather and is forced to reconsider her beliefs about parenting and finally confront old stories about the past.
