Dragon’s Domain Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1984 historical drama The Razor’s Edge co-written and directed by John Byrum and starring Bill Murray, Theresa Russell, Denholm Elliott, Catherine Hicks, Brian Doyle-Murray and James Keach. The album features the film’s newly remastered original score composed by Academy Award winner Jack Nitzsche (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, An Officer and a Gentleman, The Jewel of the Nile, Stand by Me, Starman) and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Stanley Black. The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio clips.

‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ 50th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced a new vinyl reissue of the soundtrack album for the Academy Award-winning 1975 classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest directed by Miloš Forman and starring Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher, Will Sampson, Danny DeVito, William Redfield, Sydney Lassick, Christopher Lloyd and Brad Dourif. The 50th Anniversary Edition features the newly remastered Academy Award- and Grammy Award–nominated original score from from the film composed by Jack Nitzsche (An Officer and a Gentleman, Stand by Me, The Jewel of the Nile, Starman). The soundtrack will be released on November 14 in multiple collectible color variants, including traditional black vinyl (available to order now on Amazon and other record stores), Translucent Forest Green vinyl (available at Barnes & Noble) and Coke Bottle Clear vinyl (available exclusively in the Varèse Sarabande Store). Each edition comes packaged in a gatefold jacket.
Jack Nitschze’s ‘The Jewel of the Nile’ Score to Be Released
La-La Land Records has announced the details of the new soundtrack album for the 1985 adventure comedy The Jewel of the Nile directed by Lewis Teague and starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Jack Nitzsche (An Officer and a Gentleman, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Stand by Me, Starman), including more than 30 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also included is Billy Ocean’s hit song, When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going, as featured during the film’s end credits.The original 1985 soundtrack album featured two score suites in addition to the songs from the 20th Century Fox production.
