Void Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller 11-11-11. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joseph Bishara (Insidious, Repo: The Genetic Opera). The film follows a famed American author who travels from the United States to Barcelona, Spain to reunite with his estranged brother and dying father and starts to become plagued with strange happenings, and the constant sightings of the number 11. ‘Liberal Arts’ Soundtrack Released

Artists’ Addictions Records has released a soundtrack album for the indie comedy drama Liberal Arts. The album features three tracks from the film’s score composed by Ben Toth, as well as Moby’s The Poison Tree, Kaiser Cartel’s Favorite Song and the classical pieces used in the film by composers including Beethoven, Wagner and Vivaldi. Liberal Arts is written and directed by Josh Radnor who also stars in the film alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Richard Jenkins, Allison Janney and Elizabeth Reaser. The movie about an admissions worker at a New York college who visits his liberal arts alma mater where a 19-year old student tries to romance him premiered at Sundance earlier this year and is now playing in limited release and is also available on VOD. Composer Johan Söderqvist is reuniting with director Susanne Bier on the upcoming drama Serena. The film is set in 1920s North Carolina and stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper as two newlyweds who battle the state government to stop it requisitioning their land as part of a national park. Toby Jones, Rhys Ifans and Sean Harris are co-starring. Christopher Kyle (K-19: The Widowmaker, Alexander) has written the screenplay based on a novel by Ron Rash. Nick Wechsler (Magic Mike, The Road), Todd Wagner & Mark Cuban (Deadfall), Ben Cosgrove (The Good German), Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz (Killing Them Softly, The Road) are producing the 2929 Entertainment production. MovieScore Media has released two new soundtrack albums for the BBC series Merlin. The albums include music from the third and fourth season of the hit show composed by Rob Lane (The Damned United), Rohan Stevenson, James Gosling and Michael Pawlicek. The soundtrack albums have been released digitally on October 2. Visit iTunes to download both albums for season 3 and season 4. A physical release for both albums is scheduled to come out on October 16. Merlin created by Julian Jones, Jake Michie, Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps is an update of the story of the infamous sorcerer of Arthurian legend. Hans Zimmer has composed a new theme for ABC World News. It was the first time the music has been updated since the year 2000. The program anchored by Diane Sawyer on weekdays and by David Muir on weekends also debuted a new logo, graphics package in addition to the updated music this week. EMI Music will release the official soundtrack album for the drama Chasing Mavericks. The album includes the original song I Need An Energy by Scottish born artist, Greg Holden. Also features are several alternative rock tracks from the 90s by artists including Mazzy Star, The Butthole Surfers, Sponge, Dinosaur Jr., The Lemonheads and Matthew Sweet. The alternative rock band thenewno2 is writing the music for the upcoming fantasy romance Beautiful Creatures. The film is directed by Richard LaGravenese and stars Alden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert as two star-crossed lovers who uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town. Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Mann and Emma Thompson are co-starring in the film. LaGravenese has also written the screenplay based on the first novel in the best-selling series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Erwin Stoff (Water for Elephants) is producing the Alcon Entertainment production with Andrew A. Kosove & Broderick Johnson (The Blind Side), Molly Mickler Smith (Something Borrowed) and David Valdes (The Green Mile). The movie marks the first feature scoring assignment of thenewno2. The band’s current members include Jonathan Sadoff who has scored several films over the last couple of years, including this year’s comedy drama Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (co-scored with Rob Simonsen). The details of the world premiere official soundtrack release for Zack Snyder’s remake of the zombie horror film Dawn of the Dead have been revealed. The album includes the film’s original score by composer Tyler Bates (300, Watchmen). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 16, 2012 by Milan Records. The physical release is scheduled to come out the following week and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features the film’s songs by artists including Carl Stone, The Velvet Underground, James Wilsey, Nico, Kitty Lester and The Wreckery. Also included is one track by composer Marc Streitenfeld who is credited as providing piano pieces and musical ambiances.
