Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller Annabelle directed by John Leonetti, produced by James Wan and starring Annabelle Wallis, Alfre Woodard, Tony Amendola, Eric Ladin and Brian Howe. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, Dark Skies). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the thriller Gone Girl directed by David Fincher and starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Carrie Coon and David Clennon. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who previously scored Fincher’s The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo have composed the film’s original music. ‘Men, Women & Children’ Soundtrack Details

Warner Bros. Records has released a soundtrack album for Jason Reitman’s drama Men, Women & Children. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bibio, including the original song Preen Your Own Wing. Also included are songs by Cut Copy, Black Marble, Koreless, Four Tet, Bob Dylan, as well as Nick Hallett & Ray Sweeten’s I Feel Love, which was featured in the movie’s first trailer. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. A physical version is set to be released on October 21, 2014 an is now available for pre-order here. Men, Women & Children co-written and directed by Jason Reitman stars Kaitlyn Dever, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ansel Elgort, Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer, Dean Norris and Adam Sandler. The movie follows the story of a group of high school teenagers and their parents as they attempt to navigate the many ways the internet has changed their relationships, their communication, their self-image, and their love lives. Jeff Beal Takes Over Scoring Duties on HBO’s ‘The Newsroom’

Jeff Beal is composing the music for the third and final season of HBO’s The Newsroom. The show is created by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network) and stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel and Olivia Munn. The series follows the members of a cable news team on their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of a fickle audience, corporate mandates and tangled personal relationships. Alex Wurman has previously scored the show’s first season, while Johnny Klimek composed the music for the second season. Thomas Newman provided the series’ main titles theme. ‘Sharknado’ and ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’ Soundtracks Announced

Lakeshore Records will release two soundtrack albums for the Syfy original movies Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One. The albums features the original music from the first part of the series composed by Ramin Kousha and the score for the second installment composed by Chris Ridenhour and Christopher Cano. Both soundtracks will be released digitally on October 14, 2014 and physically on November 11. Sharknado directed by Anthony C. Ferrante and starring Ian Ziering and Tara Reid premiered last year on Syfy. The sequel, which also stars Vivica A. Fox, Kari Wuhrer and Mark McGrath premiered this past summer. ‘The Longest Week’ Soundtrack Released

The album features the film’s original music composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans). The movie tells the origin story of the man who became Dracula and follows a young prince who risks his soul to save his wife and child from a bloodthirsty sultan and in the process becomes the first vampire. Josh Kelley Scoring ‘Home Sweet Hell’

Country singer/songwriter Josh Kelley is making his film scoring debut on the upcoming comedy Home Sweet Hell. The film is directed by Anthony Burns (Skateland) and stars Katherine Heigl, Patrick Wilson, Jordana Brewster, Kevin McKidd, A.J. Buckley, Chi McBride and Jim Belushi. The movie, which was originally entitled North to Hell, follows a businessman whose life would be perfect if it weren’t for his domineering wife controlling his every move. Carlo Allen, Ted Elrick and Tom Lavagnino have written the screenplay. Burns and Buckley are also producing the Darko Entertainment and Donnybrook 4 production with Jeff Culotta & Sean McKittrick (Bad Words, Hell Baby, Jimi: All Is By My Side). ‘Stonehearst Asylum’ Soundtrack Details

‘Operation Change’ Soundtrack Announced

The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Tin Cup, Ladder 49) and Alex Kovacs. Tina Guo & Composers for Charity Album Released

Cellist Tina Guo has released the album Tina Guo & Composers for Charity, which features collaborations with a variety of film, TV, and video game composers. The pieces on the album are written by composers including Neal Acree (Diablo III), Penka Kouneva (Primrose Lane), Austin Wintory (Journey), Lorne Balfe (The Penguins of Madagascar), Jeff Rona (Dominion), Bill Brown (CSI: NY), Nuno Malo (The Celestine Prophecy) and Pinar Toprak (The River Murders). The proceeds from the digital album will be donated to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation to support underfunded music in schools. The album is now available on Loudr.fm and iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Guo was the eatured cello soloist on numerous film scores, including Sherlock Holmes by Hans Zimmer, Iron Man 2 by John Debney, Clash of the Titans by Ramin Djawadi and Olympus Has Fallen by Trevor Morris.
