Following a number of sold out concerts around the world, Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton will return to Los Angeles this fall. The concerts will take place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Friday, October 31 and the Honda Center on Sunday, November 2. The program includes newly created suites from all sixteen film collaborations of Elfman and Tim Burton, including such titles as Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Big Fish. Elfman himself will perform his songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The music will be performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony and choir conducted by John Mauceri and the concert will be accompanied with large screen film clips, and the artwork of Tim Burton. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has announced that Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman will be honored with the inaugural Shirley Walker Award at the 29th annual Film & Television Music Awards on Wednesday, June 25th, 2014 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. The award honors those whose achievements have contributed to the diversity of film and television music. Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Memoirs of an Invisible Man) was the first prominent female film and TV composer. Johnny Klimek to Score ‘6 Miranda Drive’

Johnny Klimek is reteaming with director Greg Mclean on the upcoming thriller 6 Miranda Drive. The film stars Kevin Bacon, Radha Mitchell, Jennifer Morrison, David Mazouz, Lucy Fry and Matt Walsh. The movie follows two families who return from a summer camping trip in the Grand Canyon with a supernatural presence in tow. Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge) is producing the project through his Blumhouse production company alongside Matt Kaplan for Chapter One and Bianca Martino for Emu Creek Pictures. ‘Think Like a Man Too’ Soundtrack Announced

Epic Records has announced a soundtrack album for the comedy sequel Think Like a Man Too. The album features the songs from and inspired by the film by Mary J. Blige, including the end credits song Vegas Night feat. The-Dream and the song See That Boy Again, on which she collaborated with Pharrell Williams. The soundtrack will be released on June 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Think Like a Man Too is directed by Tim Story and stars Kevin Hart, Regina Hall, Taraji P. Henson, La La Anthony, Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good, Terrence J, Jenifer Lewis, Romany Malco, Gary Owen, Adam Brody, Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Walton. The sequel follows the couples on a trip to wedding in Las Vegas, but plans for a romantic weekend go awry when their various misadventures get them into some compromising situations that threaten to derail the big event. Walt Disney Records to Release ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ Soundtrack

Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the animated sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Speed, Brother Bear) who previously scored last year’s first installment in the series. The soundtrack will be released on July 15, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for the full album details. Planes: Fire & Rescue is directed by Bobs Gannaway and features the voice talent of Dane Cook, Julie Bowen, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Danny Mann, Teri Hatcher and Ed Harris. The movie follows world-famous air racer Dusty who learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. A&E Networks has released a soundtrack album for History’s event docu-series D-Day in HD. The album features the music from the two-part special by such composers as Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Ride Along), Trevor Morris (The Tudors, Immortals), Alastair King and more. Also included is the song Uprise by Phil X, Andrew Bojanic,Elizabeth Hooper & Randall Brent Cooke. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. ‘In Your Eyes’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie sci-fi romance In Your Eyes. The album features the original song Crumblin’ written by the film’s screenwriter Joss Whedon and performed by Noah Maffit & Jessica Freedman. Also included are songs by Santigold, Iron & Wine, Opus Orange and Twinbed, as well as a track from the film’s score composed by Tony Morales. Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have been hired to score the upcoming indie drama Last Days in the Desert. The film is written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia and stars Ewan McGregor, Tye Sheridan, Ciaran Hinds and Ayelet Zurer. The movie follows a holy man and a demon on a journey through the desert who encounters a family struggling to survive, which forces him to confront his own fate. Julie Lynn (The Jane Austen Book Club, Albert Nobbs) and Bonnie Curtis (Minority Report, A.I. Artificial Intelligence) are producing the Mockingbird Pictures and Division Films production with Wicks Walker.
