Sven Faulconer is composing the music for the upcoming action thriller Blood Father. The film is directed by Jean-Francois Richet (Assault on Precint 13, Mesrine: Part 1 & 2) and stars Mel Gibson, Elisabeth Rohm, William H. Macy, Diego Luna, Thomas Mann and Erin Moriarty. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Peter Craig (The Town, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) and follows an ex-con who reunites with his estranged 16-year-old daughter, and vows to protect her from the drug dealers who are trying to kill her. The psychological crime drama is created by Katie Baxendale (Sugar Rush) and stars Anne Marie-Duff as Claire Church, a former police officer who left the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in the mid-90s after the impact of violence became too overwhelming for her to continue. Johnny Harris, Richard Rankin, Luke Newberry, Caroline Lee Johnson, Lyndsey Marshall, Adrian Rawlings, Ben Batt and Leanne Best are co-starring. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for Natalie Portman’s feature directorial debut A Tale of Love and Darkness. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicholas Britell (12 Years a Slave, Gimme the Loot, The Big Short). Ryan Murphy has published an extended version of the main titles sequence for the new Fox series Scream Queens.
