Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

zootopiaExpected to top the weekend box office is Disney’s animated feature Zootopia directed by Byron Howard & Rich Moore and featuring the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Jenny Slate and Tommy Chong. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Lost, Inside Out, Star Trek, Up, Jurassic World, The Incredibles). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Check out our previous article for the full album details. london-has-fallenAlso opening wide is the action thriller London Has Fallen directed by Babak Najafi and starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Jackie Earle Haley, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, Charlotte Riley and Waleed Zuaiter. Trevor Morris (The Borgias, Vikings, Immortals, Olympus Has Fallen) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. David Newman Scoring Larry Charles’ ‘Army of One’

david-newmanDavid Newman has recently composed the music for the upcoming comedy Army of One. The film is directed by Larry Charles (Borat, Bruno, The Dictator) and stars Nicolas Cage, Russell Brand, Denis O’Hare, Ken Marino, Paul Scheer, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Rainn Wilson. The movie follows a handyman from Colorado who receives a vision telling him to go to Pakistan to capture Osama Bin Laden. Scott Rothman & Rajiv Joseph (Draft Day) have written the screenplay. Dawn Ostroff and Jeremy Steckler are producing the project for Conde Nast Entertainment, alongside James D. ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ Soundtrack Announced

The album features a selection of songs from the show by artists including IAMX, Hot Chip, Zella Day, Naughty Boy, Avid Dancer, The Acid, Chelsea Wolfe & more. Also included is a track by the series’ composer Photek. The soundtrack will be released on March 11, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. How to Get Away with Murder is created by Peter Nowalk, executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and stars Viola Davis, Billy Brown, Alfred Enoch, Jack Falahee, Katie Findlay, Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, Karla Souza, Charlie Weber and Liza Weil. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Boy, Outlander). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 11, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. 10 Cloverfield Lane is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. The movie produced by J.J. Abrams follows a young woman who wakes up in a stranger’s basement after a car accident and is told her life was saved from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. The film is directed by Jodie Foster (Little Man Tate, The Beaver) and stars George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Jack O’Connell, Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito and Caitriona Balfe. The movie follows a bombastic television stock huckster whose program and life are taken hostage by an outraged gunman. Alan DiFiore, Jim Kouf (National Treasure, Rush Hour) and Jamie Linden (We Are Marshall, Dear John) have written the screenplay. the-night-managerThe details of the soundtrack album for the AMC and BBC mini-series The Night Manager have been revealed. The album features the show’s original music composed by Victor Reyes (Buried, Grand Piano, Red Lights). The soundtrack will be released on March 25, 2016 by Silva Screen Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Night Manager is based on the novel by John Le Carre and stars Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, Neil Morrissey, Katherine Kelly and Tobias Menzies. The 6-parter directed by Susanne Bier follows a former British soldier who is recruited by an intelligence operative to navigate the shadowy recesses of Whitehall and Washington where an alliance operates between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. christian-hensonChristian Henson is reteaming with director Jason Connery on the upcoming drama Tommy’s Honor. The film stars Peter Mullan, Jack Lowden, Ophelia Lovibond and Sam Neill. The movie revolves around golfing pioneer Tom Morris and his multi-faceted relationship with his son Tommy. Pamela Marin and Kevin Cook have written the screenplay based on a novel by Cook. Keith Bank, Bob Last (The Illusionist), Jim Kreutzer and Tim Moore (In the Land of Blood and Honey, Sully) are producing the project. The show is created by Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, Romeo & Juliet, Australia) & Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Last Resort) and stars Shameik Moore, Justice Smith, Herizen Guardiola, Jaden Smith, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Browne, Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jimmy Smits and Giancarlo Esposito. The period drama is set in 1970s New York and follows a group of teens struggling to survive and find outlets through music. Luhrmann & Ryan are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Catherine Martin, Paul Watters, Thomas Kelly, Stephen Adly Guirgis and Marney Hochman.
