The film is directed by Garth Davis (Top of the Lake) and stars Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara, David Wenham, Divian Ladwa, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Priyanka Bose, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Deepti Naval. The film is based on the book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley and centers on a street kid from Calcutta who is taken in and adopted by a couple in Australia. Varese Sarabande to Release ‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday’ Soundtrack

Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original movie Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (The Royal Tenenbaums, The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21/22 Jump Street). Randy Newman to Score Pixar’s ‘Cars 3’

Randy Newman revealed in an interview with The Advertiser that he is set to compose the music for Pixar’s upcoming animated feature Cars 3. Owen Wilson is expected to return to voice Lightning McQueen, while Larry the Cable Guy is expected to reprise his role as Mater. No plot details have been revealed yet, but the film is said to feature a tribute to Hayao Miyazaki’s movie The Castle of Cagliostro. No director has been announced, but John Lasseter who directed the first two parts will be producing the project. Ilan Eshkeri has composed the music for the new ITV mini-series Doctor Thorne. The drama is written by Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey, Gosford Park) and stars Tom Hollander, Rebecca Front, Ian McShane, Alison Brie, Richard McCabe, Phoebe Nicholls, Gwyneth Keyworth, Kate O’Flynn, Edward Franklin, Stefanie Martini and Harry Richardson. The 3-parter is based on the novel of the same title by Anthony Trollope and revolves around the penniless Mary Thorne, who grows up with her rich aunt and cousins at Greshamsbury Park estate. Bruce Broughton’s Complete ‘Lost in Space’ Score to Be Released

Among the music-related highlights was Ennio Morricone receiving his first competitive Oscar for his music for The Hateful Eight and Sam Smith & Jimmy Napes who won the award for the song Writing’s on the Wall from Spectre. Brian Tyler to Score ‘Power Rangers’

Lionsgate announced today that Brian Tyler will be composing the music for the upcoming Power Rangers movie.
