20th Century Fox has published a video featurette on the music for Theodore Melfi’s drama Hidden Figures. The 3-minute piece features interviews with composers Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Benjamin Wallfisch, as well as jazz legend and pianist Herbie Hancock who is featured as a soloist on the score. Also shown is footage from a live performance of Williams’ original songs at the Toronto Film Festival and video from the scoring sessions at the Alfred Newman Scoring Stage on the Fox lot. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for Denzel Washington’s drama Fences. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Good Shepherd, The Affair, Ray Donovan, The Words, Remember Me). Also included are the songs featured in the movie by Reverend James Cleveland, Dinah Washington and Little Jimmy Scott. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 16, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical version will come out on January 13, 2017. Click here to order the CD. Bryce Jacobs has taken over scoring duties on the Syfy original series 12 Monkeys. The show is developed by Terry Matalas & Travis Fickett based on Terry Gilliam’s 1995 movie of the same title and stars Aaron Standford, Amanda Schull, Kirk Acevedo, Todd Stashwick, Emily Hampshire, Barbara Sukowa and Noah Bean. The drama follows a time traveler from the future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race. ‘Magnus’ Soundtrack Released

MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Magnus. The album features the film’s original music composed by Uno Helmersson (The Keeper of Lost Causes, The Bridge, Armadillo). Also included is the song Secret Room performed by Katharina Nuttall. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Magnus is directed by Benjamin Ree and centers on Magnus Carlsen, called the Mozart of chess, who became world champion in 2013 at the age of 22.. Foy Vance has recorded the original song Moonshine for Ben Affleck’s crime drama Live by Night. The singer/songwriter also performs the track, which is available to listen here. WaterTower Music will release the film’s original soundtrack album in a couple of weeks, which also features the movie’s original score composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven, The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek). Live by Night starring Affleck, Elle Fanning, Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Chris Cooper will be released in select theaters on December 25 and nationwide on January 13, 2017 by Warner Bros. ‘The Shack’ to Feature Original Song by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have written an original song for the upcoming drama The Shack. The song, entitled Keep Your Eyes on Me, is also performed by the country music stars and is featured in the film’s first trailer, which premiered today and is embedded after the jump.
