Dave Porter has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC drama The Blacklist: Redemption. The show is created by Jon Bokenkamp (Taking Lives) & John Eisendrath (Joy), Lukas Reiter and J.R. Orci and stars Ryan Eggold, Famke Janssen, Edi Gathegi, Tawny Cypress and Adrian Martinez. The series is a spin-off of the network’s The Blacklist, which Porter is also scoring, and revolves around the world’s most elusive criminals from Red’s infamous list who come together to form an elite mercenary team as they try to regain their self-worth after a lifetime of inflicting damage on the world. ‘Holmes & Watson’ to Feature Original Songs by Alan Menken & Glenn Slater

Alan Menken revealed in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter that he is writing two original songs for the upcoming comedy Holmes & Watson. Glenn Slater is proving the lyrics. The movie is written and directed by Etan Cohen (Get Hard) and stars Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Rebecca Hall, Kelly Macdonald, Lauren Lapkus and Rob Brydon. The film is described as a comedic take on Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mysteries featuring Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. Jimmy Miller (Step Brothers, Bad Teacher, The Other Guys) is producing the project for Mosaic, alongside Adam McKay (The Big Short, Anchorman, Tallageda Nights) for Gary Sanchez Productions. Bear McCreary announced on Twitter that he has composed the music for the upcoming documentary Unrest. The film tells her story of Harvard PhD student Jennifer Brea who is struck down at 28 by a fever that leaves her bedridden, doctors tell her it’s “all in her head.” Determined to live, she sets out on a virtual journey to document her story —and four other families’ stories — fighting a disease medicine forgot. Brea has directed the movie and is also producing the project with Lindsey Dryden and Patricia E. Gillespie.
