Rhino Records will release a soundtrack album for Amazon Studios’ documentary Long Strange Trip. The album features a collection of songs by the film’s subject, the rock band Grateful Dead as featured in the movie. The soundtrack will be released on May 26, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Long Strange Trip is directed by Amir Bar-Lev (Trouble the Water, Happy Valley, The Tillman Story) and chronicles the rise of the Grateful Dead from their Bay Area roots to stadiums around the world. The documentary executive produced by Martin Scorsese premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on May 26 before premiering on Amazon Prime on June 2. The film starring Emmanuelle Seigner, Eva Green and Vincent Perez follows a Parisian author with writer’s block who discovers a mysterious woman at a book signing. Olivier Assayas (Personal Shopper, Clouds of Sils Maria) and Polanski wrote the screenplay based on Delphine de Vigan’s novel of the same title. Academy to Team with LA Philharmonic for Oscar Concert 2018

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is teaming with the Los Angeles Philharmonic to present next year’s nominated scores live in concert. The event is set to take place on February 28, 2018 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. Conductor Thomas Wilkins will lead the celebration and the program will include suites and video from each nominated film. The Academy presented its first Oscar concert back in 2014 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The nominations for the 90th Academy Awards will be announced on January 23, 2018 and the ceremony will be held on Oscar Sunday, March 4 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
Soundtrack for Amazon’s ‘Bosch’ Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the first soundtrack album for the Amazon original series Bosch. The album features selections from the show’s original music from all three seasons composed by Jesse Voccia (A Haunted House 2, The Big C). Also included is the drama’s main titles song Can’t Let Go performed by Caught A Ghost. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 21, 2017 and physically on May 5. Philippe Rombi is reteaming with director Francois Ozon on the upcoming French thriller Amant Double. The film is written and directed by Ozon and stars Jérémie Renier, Marine Vacth and Jacqueline Bisset. The movie follows a fragile young woman who falls in love with her psychoanalyst, but soon discovers that her lover is concealing part of his identity. Eric & Nicolas Altmayer (OSS 117, Saint Laurent) are producing the project. The composer is recording his score this month.
