Peter Nashel (I, Tonya, Marco Polo, Book Club, Mike, The Night Listener, Bee Season, Alaska Daily) has composed the original score for the new HBO documentary The Dark Money Game. The 2-parter features two films, Ohio Confidential & Wealth of the Wicked, written and directed by Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks) who investigates the shadowy world of political donations and fundraising fifteen years after the Supreme Court’s decision in the Citizen’s United case, which enabled unlimited spending by hidden sources on many political campaigns. The movies sare inspired by Jane Mayer’s book Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right and features interviews with journalists including Mayer herself, as well as lawmakers, FBI investigators, judges, whistleblowers, and insiders on both sides of the issue. Sony Classical has released a first track from the soundtrack for the film adaptation of the video game Until Dawn. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Crash and Smash written by the movie’s composer Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Alien: Romulus, Blade Runner 2049, Twisters, The Flash, Hidden Figures).
