Ben Onono (Missing You, Half of a Yellow Sun, Ridley Road, Safe, Spell, Paranoid, Trust Me) has recently scored the new British Disney+/Freeform limited series The Stolen Girl. The show is developed by Catherine Moulton based on the best-selling novel by Alex Dahl and stars Denise Gough, Holliday Grainger , Jim Sturgess, Ambika Mod, Bronagh Waugh and Michael Workéyè. Last week, John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, The Jungle Book, Iron Man 2, The Emperor’s New Groove, Hocus Pocus) has started recording his score for the upcoming animated sequel The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants. The film is directed by Derek Drymon (Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania) and features the voices of Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Carolyn Lawrence, Bill Fagerbakke, Mr. Lawrence and Mark Hamill. The fourth theatrical SpongeBob movie based on the series created by Stephen Hillenburg follows the title character as he faces off against “The Flying Dutchman,” a gruff and goofy ghost-pirate. Jesse Eisenberg to Write Music & Lyrics for A24 Movie Musical

A24 announced today that Jesse Eisenberg wrote the original music and lyrics for the actor’s third feature directorial effort. The (currently untitled) musical comedy will star Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti, Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, Bernadette Peters, Bonnie Milligan, Colton Ryan, Maulik Pancholy and Lilli Cooper. Steven Gizicki (A Complete Unknown, La La Land) serves as the project’s music supervisor and Bill Sherman (In the Heights, tick, tick…BOOM!) is the executive music producer on the film, which follows a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a community theater musical production and going to extremes as she loses herself in the role.
