The Orchard will release a soundtrack album for Joachim Trier’s supernatural thriller Thelma. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ola Flottum (Force Majeure) who previously scored the director’s previous features, Louder Than Bombs, Reprise and Oslo, August 31st . A soundtrack album will be released for Isabel Coixet’s drama The Bookshop. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alfonso de Vilallonga (Snow White, Transsiberian) who previously scored the director’s My Life Without Me. The Bookshop is written and directed by Coixet (The Secret Life of Words, Elegy) and stars Emily Mortimer, Bill Nighy and Patricia Clarkson. The movie based on Penelope Fitzgerald’s novel is set in England in 1959 in a small East Anglian town and follows a woman who decides, against polite but ruthless local opposition, to open a bookshop. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album for the comedy sequel A Bad Moms Christmas. The album features the songs from the movie by artists including The Lumineers, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, DNCE, Little Mix & more. Also included are three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Baywatch, Ride Along, Identity Thief, Agent Carter) who previously scored last year’s original film. The composer also produced the track 12 Days of Christmas performed by Colbie Caillat feat. Aloe Blacc and arranged by Chris Walden. Premiering tonight is the new Showtime original series SMILF created by Frankie Shaw who also stars in the comedy alongside Miguel Gomez, Rosie O’Donnell and Samara Weaving. The show’s original music is composed by Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, The Exorcist) is composing the show’s original music. Zoe Keating and Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, Star Trek: Discovery) also contributed additional music. Also premiering tonight is the second season of the Starz original series The Girlfriend Experience created by Amy Seimetz & Lodge Kerrigan, executive produced by Steven Soderbergh and starring Anna Friel, Louisa Krause, Narges Rashidi, Carmen Ejogo, Tunde Adebimpe, Harmony Korine and Morgana Davies. Mondo Boys (Phoenix Forgotten, Dave Made a Maze) have joined the project as new composers this season. They follow Shane Carruth who scored last year’s first season of the drama.
