James Newton Howard has been hired to score the upcoming Jumanji sequel. The film is directed by Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Orange County) and stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillian, Jack Black and Nick Jonas. No plot details have been announced yet. Scott Rosenberg (High Fidelity, Con Air) and Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The 5th Wave) have written the screenplay based on a previous draft by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers (Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Lego Batman Movie). Death Waltz Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the horror comedy The Greasy Strangler. The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrew Hung. Alexandre Desplat’s to Conduct Concert World Premiere of ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ Score

Alexandre Desplat will conduct the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra for the world premiere concert performance of his score for the animated hit film The Secret Life of Pets at this year’s Hollywood in Vienna gala on October 14, 2016 at the historic Vienna Concert Hall. As previously announced, the Academy Award-winning composer will receive the Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award, presented by the City of Vienna. The event will also feature the concert world premieres of Desplat’s scores to Argo, Julie & Julia, Lust, Caution and the song Still Dream from DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians (performed by German Pop and R&B singer Grace Capristro).
