Marvel Music and Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for Marvel’s Netflix original series The Punisher. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, 300, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, John Wick). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 18 and will be available to download here. The labels have previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from the first season. The Punisher is developed by Steve Lightfoot based on the Marvel Comic character and stars Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Amber Rose Revah, Paul Schulze, Jason R. Gramoscope Music will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama Pimp. The album features the film’s original music is composed by Alec Puro (The Art of Getting By, Higher Ground, The Fosters, All Nighters). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 28 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Pimp is written and directed by Christine Crokos and stars Keke Palmer, Haley Ramm, Aunjanue Ellis, Vanessa Morgan, Mike E. Winfield, Edi Gathegi and DMX. Producers Anita Greenspan and pro-skater Tony Hawk with executive producer Adam Zotovich announced today that a new musical adaptation of the 2007 Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity) novel, SLAM, is in development. Film composer Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums) is writing the music and lyrics for the project, which will feature a book by Kyle Jarrow (SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical). David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly, Tarzan) is writing the screenplay. Patrick Doyle confirmed in a recent interview with The Scotsman that is set to compose the music for the upcoming film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, the follow-up to Murder on the Orient Express, which the composer scored in 2017. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh who will also reprise his lead role as Hercule Poirot. Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer and Tom Bateman will also star in the movie, which follows Poroit on a luxurious cruise on the Nile River as he identifies a motley collection of would-be killers.
