‘Smurfs’ Soundtrack Album Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature Smurfs have been revealed. The album features fourteen songs from and inspired by the movie by artists such as Rihanna (who is also producing the film and stars as Smurfette), Natania, The Indian Connect, James Corden (who stars as No Name), Lous and the Yakuza, James Fauntleroy, Shenseea & Tyla. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 13 by Roc Nation Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, two first tracks (Higher Love by DESI TRILL, DJ Khaled & Cardi B feat. Natania & Subhi and Friend of Mine by Rihanna) are already available to stream/download now. Smurfs is directed by Chris Miller and also stars Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, JP Karliak, Sandra Oh, Kurt Russell, Octavia Spencer, Xolo Maridueña, Billie Lourd, Natasha Lyonne, Alex Winter, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Marshmello, Maya Erskine and John Goodman. A64 Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Sabbath Queen. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joel Goodman (Loudmouth, Jay Myself, Racing Dreams, American Experience: JFK, Canvas). Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Boy and the Heron, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor TotoroDepartures) is making his American feature scoring debut on the upcoming romantic fantasy drama A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. The film is directed by Kogonada (After Yang, Columbus) and stars Margot Robbie, Colin Farrell, Kevin Kline and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The movie follows two single strangers who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding and soon find themselves on fantastical adventure together where they get to re-live important moments from their respective pasts. Interscope Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for the second season of the British Apple TV+ original series The Buccaneers. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the original song Little Secret co-written (with Stella Mozgawa) and performed by Empress Of. Matador Records has released a soundtrack album for the hybrid documentary/biopic/concert movie Pavements. The album features live and rehearsal recordings from the indie rock band Pavement‘s 2021 reunion tour, cast recordings from the Slanted! Enchanted! jukebox musical, scenes from the fake biopic Range Life, as well as well as dialogue snippets from the film. Composer Rob Simonsen (Deadpool & Wolverine, It Ends with Us, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, The Way Back, The Age of Adaline, FoxcatcherNerve(500) Days of Summer) is reuniting with director Darren Aronofsky on the upcoming crime thriller Caught Stealing. The film starring Austin Butler, Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Vincent D’Onofrio, Liev Schreiber, Benito A Martínez Ocasio, Griffin Dunne & Carol Kane follows a high-school baseball phenom who can’t play anymore and now tends bar at a New York dive who suddenly finds himself caught in the middle of a motley crew of threatening gangsters when his punk-rock neighbor asks him to take care of his cat for a few days. BSX Records has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1997 TV series Conan the Adventurer developed by Max A. Keller based on the Conan the Barbarian character created by Robert E. Howard and starring Ralf Möller, Danny Woodburn, Robert McRay, Jeremy Kemp, T.J. Storm and Aly Dunne. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Grammy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Charles Fox (9 to 5, Foul Play, Short Circuit 2, National Lampoon’s European VacationLittle Darlings). Also included is the original song In Love and War written by Fox, feat. lyrics by Roxanne Seeman and performed by Terry Reid. The titles include the 1981 romantic drama Hotel America (Hôtel des Amériques) co-written and directed by André Téchiné and starring Catherine Deneuve and Patrick Dewaere, the 1980 drama A Bad Son (Un mauvais fils) co-written and directed by Claude Sautet and starring Patrick Dewaere, Yves Robert & Brigitte Fossey, as well as the 1986 crime drama Scene of the Crime (Le Lieu du crime) co-written and directed by Téchiné and starring Catherine Deneuve, Danielle Darrieux, Wadeck Stanczak and Victor Lanoux. The film is directed by Eric Lin and stars Lucy Liu, Lawrence Shou, Orion Lee, Jennifer Lim, James Chen and Madison Hu. The movie is based on a true story and follows a Chinese immigrant mother who is driven to desperate measures by her unstable son’s escalating mental health crisis and growing obsession with mass shootings. Music Box Records has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Ernest Cole: Lost & Found. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexei Aigui (I Am Not Your Negro, The Young Karl Marx, Exterminate All the BrutesWild Field, The Truth, Silver Dollar Road). Also included are the composer’s scores from Peck’s Murder in Pacot and Moloch Tropical (with some previously unreleased tracks). The CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also learn more about the release. A first track (Harlem) from Aigui’s Ernest Cole score has already been released as a digital single last month and can be checked out below and a digital version of the album will be coming out this Friday, June 6 (visit Amazon to stream/download). Ernest Cole: Lost & Found is directed by Raoul Peck, narrated by LaKeith Stanfield and chronicles the life of Ernest Cole whose photographs of apartheid-era South Africa and the U.S. in the 1960’s revealed countries vastly different, yet eerily similar.
