Varese Sarabande will release a new soundtrack album for Damien Chazelle’s Academy Award-nominated 2014 drama Whiplash starring Miles Teller, J. K. Simmons, Paul Reiser and Melissa Benoist. Mark Snow (The X-Files, Millennium, Smallville) has composed the original score for the upcoming X-Men spinoff The New Mutants. The film is directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga. The horror thriller is set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive. Boone also co-wrote the screenplay with Knate Lee (Kidnap). ‘No Time to Die’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Decca Records has announced the official soundtrack album for the 25th James Bond film No Time to Die. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception). Johnny Marr joined Zimmer in scoring the film and as featured guitarist, with additional music by composer and score producer Steve Mazzaro. Hollywood Bowl 2020 Season Schedule Announced

The Hollywood Bowl has announced this summer’s season schedule, which includes a number of film music concerts. On June 27, the Bowl will host a live to projection concert for Nicholas Hooper‘s score for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Justin Freer will conduct the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. On July 30, John Williams and violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter will perform the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a special program of music from their album Across the Stars, featuring re-imagined versions of Williams’ themes from Star Wars, Sabrina, Far and Away, Harry Potter, and many more (click here for more details). Composer Daniel Hart is reuniting with director David Lowery on the upcoming fantasy adventure The Green Knight. The film is written and directed by Lowery and stars Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan and Ralph Ineson. The movie is based on the timeless Arthurian legend and tells the story of Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. The director is also producing the project with Toby Halbrooks & James M. Johnston (Listen Up Philip, Never Goin’ Back) for their Sailor Bear production company, alongside Tim Headington (Hugo, The Tourist) and Theresa Steele Page (Miss Juneteenth) for Ley Line Entertainment. John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, The Star) has been tapped to score the upcoming Showtime original series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The show is created by John Logan (Gladiator, Hugo, The Aviator) and stars Daniel Zovatto, Natalie Dormer, Kerry Bishé, Amy Madigan, Brent Spiner, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear, Piper Perabo, Adam Rodriguez, Thomas Kretschmann, Lorenza Izzo, Michael Gladis, Dominic Sherwood, Ethan Peck and Nathan Lane. The spin-off to Penny Dreadful (which aired between 2014 and 2016) is set in 1938 Los Angeles after a grisly murder shocks the city and follows a detective and his partner as they become embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of LA.
