Film Fest Gent today announced the James Horner Tribute Concert, which will take place on October 17, 2024 in Muziekcentrum De Bijloke, where a selection of the legendary composer’s scores will be performed. Dirk Brossé will lead the Brussels Philharmonic in this musical celebration. Long time colleague and friend of Horner, Simon Franglen, is involved in the program’s curation and will be in attendance at the event. Franglen collaborated with Horner on such films as Titanic, Avatar and The Amazing Spider-Man and completed his score for The Magnificent Seven before composing the music for Avatar: The Way of Water, for which he won the WSA Discovery of the Year Award last year. San Isidro Edizioni Musicali will release a soundtrack album for the Italian Netflix original film The Tearsmith (Fabbricante di lacrime). The album features the movie’s original music composed by Andrea Farri (Io Capitano, The First King, The Hanging Sun, SecurityLatin LoverItalian Race). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 4 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Tearsmith is directed by Alessandro Genovesi and stars Simone Baldasseroni, Caterina Ferioli, Sabrina Paravicini, Roberta Rovelli, Alessandro Bedetti and Orlando Cinque. The romantic drama is based Eric Doom’s best-selling novel of the same title and follows two orphans who have been adopted together after a tough childhood and realize that unexpected but irresistible feelings pull them together. The album features selections of the composers’ original score and is now available to stream/download on most major digital music services, including Amazon. Mondo, in partnership with Amazon Studios and Sparks and Shadows, has announced a Complete Soundtrack Collection for the first season of the Prime Video original series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The 10-CD box set features the original music from all eight episodes of Season 1 composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the MonstersOutlander, Battlestar Galactica,  10 Cloverfield LaneThe Walking DeadHappy Death Day), as well as the original 2-CD soundtrack release, which also includes Howard Shore’s main title theme and Where the Shadows Lie performed by Fiona Apple. The soundtrack collection, which also includes a 136-page journal featuring McCreary’s episode-by-episode account and is limited to 1,000 copies, will be released on April 26, 2024 and is now available to order on Amazon. Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Steve JobsKing Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Enola Holmes,  The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ocean’s 8,The Man from U.N.C.L.E.Being the Ricardos) is set to score the upcoming animated sequel The Bad Guys 2. The film is directed by Pierre Perifel (who previously helmed the original film) and features the voices of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Awkwafina, Zazie Beetz, Richard Ayoade, Alex Borstein and Lilly Singh. The DreamWorks Animation production follows the crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws as they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do “one last job” by an all-female squad of criminals. Curb Records will release a soundtrack album for the faith-based biographical drama Unsung Hero. The album features songs from and inspired by the film by Christian pop duo for KING & Country, including reimagined versions of Christian music, several new songs and collaborations with artists such as Amy Grant, Rebecca St. James, Michael W. Smith, Stryper, Lee Brice and Hillary Scott. The soundtrack will be released digitally, on CD and vinyl on April 26 and is now available for pre-order (in all three formats) on Amazon. Unsung Hero is written and directed by Richard Ramsey & Joel Smallbone and starring Smallbone himself, Daisy Betts, Kirrilee Berger, Jonathan Jackson, Lucas Black, Candace Cameron Bure, Terry O’Quinn and Hillary Scott. Composer Jerskin Fendrix is reteaming with director Yorgos Lanthimos on the upcoming sci-fi anthology movie Kinds of Kindness. The film is co-written (with Efthimis Filippou) and directed by Lanthimos (The Favourite, The Lobster) and stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Hunter Schafer and Mamoudou Athie. No plot details have been revealed yet. Lanthimos is also producing the project with Ed Guiney (Room, Disobedience), Andrew Lowe (Normal People, The Wonder) and Kasia Malipan. The film is directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah and stars Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Eric Dane, Paola Nuñez, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Tasha Smith, Melanie Liburd, Tiffany Haddish and Joe Pantoliano. Steve Lynch (Obituary, Let Us Prey, Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale, Boys from Hell) has released a new soundtrack album for the BBC series Wreck. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Listen to the composer’s first track (Welcome to Exodum) after the jump. Lynch has previously released a soundtrack featuring his music from Season 1 back in 2022. Wreck is created by Ryan J.
