Dreamscore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Norwegian period drama Atlantic Crossing. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Raymond Enoksen (Haunted, Ice Road Rescue) and performed by the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music stores. Atlantic Crossing is written by Alexander Eik & Linda May Kallestein, directed by Eik and stars Sofia Helin, Kyle MacLachlan and Tobias Santelmann. The limited series tells the untold story of Norwegian Crown Princess Märtha who became an influential figure in world politics during World War II, after Norway was occupied by Nazi Germany in 1940. Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6) has recently been scoring Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ original series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The show is written by Malcolm Spellman, directed by Kari Skogland (The Loudest Voice) and stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp and Wyatt Russell. The 6-parter follows Sam Wilson aka The Falcon & Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier, who came together in the final moments of Avengers: Endgame as they team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience. Lunacy Productions has released a soundtrack album for the survival thriller Rust Creek. The album features the film’s original music composed by H. Scott Salinas (The Banker, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Birth of the Dragon, Cartel Land, Warrior, Sea of Shadows). Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner (of The National) have teamed up to score the upcoming indie drama Jockey. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Clint Bentley and stars Clifton Collins Jr., Molly Parker and Moises Arias. The movie follows a seasoned horse jockey Jackson who finds himself facing what could be his last season as his health deteriorates, when a budding young jockey shows up and claims to be his son. Bentley also co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Kwedar. They are both producing the project with Nancy Schafer (Barracuda, 7 Chinese Brothers, Running with Beto). Read the rest of this entry »

The 4-track EP features selections of the original music from the special composed by Benji Merrison & Will Slater (One Strange Rock, Africa, Planet Earth Live). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. A full soundtrack album will be announced soon. The label has previously released the composers’ score from the original 2018 Dynasties series. Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, December 31, is the British comedy Cleaning Up created by Mark Marlow and starring Sheridan Smith, Jade Anouka, Robert Emms, Kristy Philipps, Anya McKenna-Bruce, Uriel Emil and Branka Katic. The show’s original music is composed by Guy Garvey & Peter Jobson (TryingDead in a Week or Money Back) & Paul Saunderson (Three Identical StrangersStarfish). The series, which revolves around a down-on-her-luck office cleaner who is lured into the high-risk world of insider trading, premiered in the UK last year on ITV and is making its U.S. debut on Sundance Now. Composer Robin Foster (Criminal: UK, Untogether, Truth Seekers) is reuniting with director Sean Ellis on the upcoming period horror drama Eight for Silver. The film is written and directed by Ellis (Cashback, The Broken) and stars Boyd Holbrook, Kelly Reilly, Alistair Petrie, Roxane Duran and Áine Rose Daly. The movie is set in the late 19th century and follows a pathologist who arrives in a remote country village to investigate an attack by a wild animal brutal and discovers a sinister presence lurking in the woods. John Powell and 5 Cat Studios have released a new album featuring nine suites from some of the composer’s score best known scores. Among the titles are How to Train Your Dragon (for which he received his first Academy Award nomination) and its first sequel, The Bourne Identity, Chicken Run, X-Men: The Last Stand, Two Weeks Notice, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Ice Age: The Meltdown and Endurance. The music was newly recorded with the Philharmonia Orchestra and The Philharmonia Voices and conducted by José Serebrier. Sarah Warne has been tapped to score the upcoming BBC drama Time. The show is written by Jimmy McGovern (Broken, The Street, Accused) and stars Stephen Graham, Sean Bean,  Siobhan Finneran, Sue Johnston, Hannah Walters, David Calder, Nadine Marshall, Michael Socha, Aneurin Barnard and Jack McMulllen. Four new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Wonder Woman 1984 directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Connie Nielsen. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (InceptionThe Lion King, The Dark Knight, Man of SteelGladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar). Also opening wide is the western News of the World co-written and directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Tom Hanks and Helena Zengel.
