Christopher Lennertz is composing the score for the upcoming romantic comedy The Wedding Ringer. The film is directed by Jeremy Garelick (screenwriter of The Break-Up) and stars Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Kaley Cuoco, Affion Crockett, Jorge Garcia, Dan Gill, Corey Holcomb, Ken Howard, Colin Kane, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, Alan Ritchson, Mimi Rogers, Ignacio Serricchio, Aaron Takahashi, Olivia Thirlby and Nicky Whelan. Garelick has also written the screenplay with Jay Lavender. The movie follows a man who provides best man services for socially challenged guys and a groom-to-be who has found himself in just such a situation and fabricates the names of not only a best man but nine groomsmen as well.

Hans Zimmer, Pharell Williams & Woodkid to Compose Music for JR’s Next Film Project
French artist JR has announced on Instagram (via Complex) that Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Woodkid will be composing the music for his next film project. No details of the movie have been announced yet. Woodkid has previously collaborated with JR on the ballet Les bosquets. Zimmer and Williams have most recently worked together on the soundtrack for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as Williams’ record G I R L. JR has previously the 2010 French documentary Women Are Heroes and was also the subject of last year’s doc Inside Out, which featured a score by composers including Antonio Pinto and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Julian Wass to Score Helen Hunt’s ‘Ride’
Julian Wass has been hired to score the upcoming indie romantic comedy Ride. The film marks the second directorial effort of actress Helen Hunt who also stars in the movie alongside Luke Wilson, Brenton Thwaites, David Zayas, Robert Knepper, Mike White, Richard Kind, Leonor Varela and Elizabeth Jayne. The comedy follows a strong-willed mother who follows her 20-year-old son to Los Angeles after he quits college at NYU to become a surfer. Hunt has also written the screenplay and is producing the project with Lizzie Friedman (And Soon the Darkness), Gregg Little (Sex and Death 101) and Moon Blauner. Hunt’s directorial debut Then She Found Me featured a score by David Mansfield.
Michael Giacchino to Score Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’
Michael Giacchino confirmed during the pre-concert conversation at the world premiere live-to-projection concert of Star Trek Into Darkness at the KKL Concert Hall in Lucerne, Switzerland this weekend that he will be scoring Pixar’s upcoming animated feature Inside Out. The film is directed by Pete Doctor and features the voice talent of Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling and Phyllis Smith. The movie will be told from the perspective of the emotions inside the mind of an especially imaginative young girl. Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3, Little Miss Sunshine) has written the screenplay. Jonas Rivera (Up) is producing the project. Giacchino has previously collaborated with Docter on the 2009 film Up, for which he received his first Academy Award.
James Horner to Score Gabriele Muccino’s ‘Fathers and Daughters’
Director Gabriele Muccino has announced that James Horner will be scoring the upcoming drama Fathers and Daughters. The film stars Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Paul, Quvenzhane Wallis, Diane Kruger, Jane Fonda, Octavia Spencer, Bruce Greenwood and Janet McTeer. The movie tells the story of a woman dealing with a crumbling relationship in the present and looking back on the relationship she had with her father, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, 25 years earlier. Brad Desch has written the Black List-honored screenplay. Craig J. Flores & Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, The Company You Keep) are producing the Voltage Pictures production with Sherryl Clark for Busted Shark Productions. Crowe serves as an executive producer.
Antonio Pinto to Score Niki Caro’s ‘McFarland’
Antonio Pinto is composing the music for the upcoming sports drama McFarland. The film is directed by Niki Caro and stars Kevin Costner, Maria Bello, Morgan Saylor and Carlos Pratts. The movie is set in the 1980s and tells the true story of a high school coach who comes to the predominantly Latino town of McFarland, Calif. and creates a high school track team that becomes a championship-winning dynasty. Mark Ciardi & Gordon Gray (Miracle, The Rookie, Million Dollar Arm) are producing the project for Mayhem Pictures. William Broyles Jr. (Apollo 13, Planet of the Apes, Cast Away) has written the final version of the script based on a previous version by Grant Thompson.
William Ross to Collaborate with Robby Krieger on Jim Morrison Movie ‘The Poet in Exile’
William Ross is set to collaborate with Robby Krieger, the guitarist of The Doors, and Pablo Manzarek, the son of Ray Manzarek, on the soundtrack for the upcoming drama The Poet in Exile. The film is written and directed by Tim Sullivan and will explore the urban legend that Jim Morrison is still alive. The movie is based on a novel written by Ray Manzarek, which suggests that Morrison staged his death in 1971 and later contacted Manzarek from his hiding place in the Seychelles Islands to embark on one last journey of rock ‘n’ roll rebellion. Harrison Ford is reportedly considered to play Manzarek. Sullivan is also producing the project for New Rebellion and Krieger serves as an executive producer.

Gregory Tripi is scoring the upcoming indie mystery thriller Dark Places. The film is written and directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah’s Key, Walled In) and stars Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan. Drea DeMatteo, Andrea Roth and Sterling Jerins. The movie is based on a novel by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) and follows a woman who survived the massacre of her family as a young girl and testified against her brother. 25 years later, she is confronted by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes. Stephane Marsil (Adventures of Arsene Lupin), Beth Kono & AJ Dix (The Butterfly Effect, Sleepwalking), Cathy Schulman (Crash, The Illusionist) Matthew Rhodes (Southland Tales, Passengers) and Matt Jackson (End of Watch, Snitch) are producing the project.
Henry Jackman & Matt Margeson to Score Matthew Vaughn’s ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’
Henry Jackman and Matt Margeson are composing the music for the upcoming action thriller Kingsman: The Secret Service. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) and stars Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong and Jack Davenport. The movie based on based on the comic book by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius. Vaughn and Jane Goldman (The Debt, The Woman in Black) have co-written the screenplay and the director is also producing the project with David Reid & Adam Bohling (Layer Cake).
Harry Escott Scoring Michael Winterbottom’s ‘The Face of an Angel’
Harry Escott is reteaming with director Michael Winterbottom on the upcoming drama The Face of an Angel. The movie stars Daniel Bruhl, Kate Beckinsale, Cara Delevingne, Valerio Mastandre, Rosie Fellner, Alistair Petrie and The film follows a troubled filmmaker who is researching a sensational murder trial in Italy. As he sees the victim forgotten in the media frenzy, he is inspired to reconnect with his own daughter. Paul Viragh (Ashes, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll) has written the screenplay based on the book Angel Face about the Amanda Knox trial by Barbie Latza Nadeau. Melissa Parmenter (The Trip, The Look of Love) is producing the BBC Films production. Escott has previously co-scored Winterbottom’s 2006 documentary The Road to Guantanamo and the 2007 drama A Mighty Heart starring Angelina Jolie with Molly Nyman.
