Composer Adam Peters (Savages, Snowden, The Yellow Birds) is reuniting with director Bryan Fogel on the upcoming documentary The Dissident. The film centers on Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s disappearance after entering Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul and follows his fiancée and dissidents around the world as they are left to piece together clues to his brutal murder. Fogel is also producing the project with Jake Swantko, Mark Monroe and Thor Halvorssen.

The film is written and directed by Maya Forbes & Wally Wolodarsky and stars Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Beverly D’Angelo, David Rasche, Rebecca Henderson, Molly Brown, Kathryn Erbe and Kelly AuCoin. The movie is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same name by Ann Leary and revolves around a New England realtor who lives in a small town on Boston’s North Shore and whose life starts to unravel as she rekindles an old romance.

Michael Giacchino has been hired to score the upcoming thriller Let Him Go. The film is written and directed by Thomas Bezucha and stars Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Lesley Manville, Will Brittain, Jeffrey Donovan, Kayli Carter and Booboo Stewart. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Larry Watson and follows a retired sheriff and his wife as they leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson and discover that he is in the clutches of a dangerous family living off the grid in the Dakotas.
Nathan Barr Scoring Alan Ball’s ‘Uncle Frank’
Composer Nathan Barr (The House with a Clock in Its Walls, The Americans, Hostel, Cabin Fever) is reuniting with writer/director Alan Ball on the upcoming drama Uncle Frank. The film is written and directed by Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under) and stars Paul Bettany, Sophia Lillis, Peter Macdissi, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer and Margo Martindale. The movie is set in 1973 and follows a 18-year-old and her uncle Frank as they take a road trip from Manhattan to Creekville, South Carolina for the family patriarch’s funeral and unexpectedly joined by Frank’s lover.

Trent Reznor has confirmed in a recent interview with Revolver that he is teaming up with Atticus Ross to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Mank. The film is directed by David Fincher and stars Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Charles Dance, Tuppence Middleton, Arliss Howard, Ferdinand Kingsley, Jamie McShane, Joseph Cross, Sam Troughton, Toby Leonard Moore, Tom Burke, and Tom Pelphrey. The movie is based on a script by Fincher’s late father, Jack, and tells the story screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz’s tumultuous development of the script for Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane.

Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception) and Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie) are composing the original music for the upcoming Nat Geo documentary Rebuilding Paradise. The film is directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Solo: A Star Wars Story) and tells the story of the Paradise community as they begin to rebuild their lives following the most destructive wildfire in California history. Howard is also producing the project with Brian Grazer (Empire, 24), Xan Parker, Sara Bernstein and Justin Wilkes (Mars, What Happened, Miss Simone?).
