The film is directed by Byron Howard (Tangled, Bolt) & Jared Bush (Zootopia) and features the voices of Stephanie Beatriz, María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Angie Cepeda, Mauro Castillo, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan. The movie tells the story of the Madrigals family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a wondrous place called an Encanto and follows an ordinary 15-year-old who’s struggling to find her place in her family. Lin-Manuel Miranda has composed the original songs for the Walt Disney Animation Studios production.

Jonathan Goldsmith Scoring Michael McGowan’s ‘All My Puny Sorrows’
Jonathan Goldsmith (Away from Her, Take This Waltz, Casino Jack, Burn Your Maps, Dreamland, Stories We Tell) has composed the original music for the new drama All My Puny Sorrows. The film is written and directed by Michael McGowan (Still Mine, Saint Ralph) and stars Alison Pill, Sarah Gadon, Mare Winningham, Amybeth McNulty and Donal Logue. The movie is based on Miriam Toews’ novel of the same title and revolves around two sisters: a writer who’s tormented by self-doubt and is going through a tough divorce and her a well-known concert pianist whose struggle with depression threaten to consume her.
Hildur Guðnadóttir to Score Todd Field’s ‘TAR’
Hildur Guðnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Mary Magdalene) has been hired to score the upcoming drama TAR. The film is written and directed by Todd Field (In the Bedroom, Little Children) and stars Cate Blanchett, Nina Hoss und Noémie Merlant. The movie revolves the first woman to be invited as the lead conductor of a major German orchestra. Field is also producing the project for Standard Film Company, alongside Alexandra Milchan (Street Kings, Righteous Kill) & Scott Lambert (The Terror, Paranoia) for Emjag Productions.
Ludwig Göransson to Return for Ryan Coogler’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’
Ludwig Göransson (The Mandalorian, Tenet, Creed, Venom, Community) has revealed in a recent interview with Variety that he has started work on his score for Marvel Studios’ upcoming sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and Dominique Thorne. No plot details have been announced yet. Coogler also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole (The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, All Day and a Night).
Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer Scoring Lana Wachowski’s ‘The Matrix Resurrections’
Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed today that Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer are co-scoring the upcoming sci-fi action movie The Matrix Resurrections. The film is directed by Lana Wachowski and stars Keanu Reeves & Carrie-Anne Moss who reprise their roles from the original Matrix trilogy (scored by Don Davis). They are joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci, Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, Animals, My Blind Brother) and Drum & Lace (Good Girls, Deadly Illusions, The Gospel According to André) have composed the original score for the upcoming Netflix original film Night Teeth. The movie is directed by Adam Randall (I See You, iBoy) and stars Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Debby Ryan, Lucy Fry, Raul Castillo, Alfie Allen, Alexander Ludwig, Sydney Sweeney and Megan Fox. The horror thriller follows a young driver who picks up two mysterious women for a night of party hopping, but when his passengers reveal their true nature, he must fight to stay alive.
Jonny Greenwood Scoring Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Soggy Bottom’
Jonny Greenwood is reteaming with Paul Thomas Anderson on the director’s upcoming, currently untitled drama (known under the working title Soggy Bottom). The film is written and directed by Anderson (Magnolia, Boogie Nights) and stars Bradley Cooper, Cooper Hoffman, Alana Haim, Benny Safdie and Skyler Gisondo. The movie is set in the San Fernando Valley in the 1970s and revolves around a high school student and successful child actor. Anderson is also producing the Ghoulardi Film Company production with Sarah Murphy (If Beale Street Could Talk, Never Rarely Sometimes Always) and JoAnne Sellar (Punch-Drunk Love).
Disasterpeace (Rich Vreeland) Scoring Dean Fleischer-Camp’s ‘Marcel the Shell with Shoes On’
Rich Vreeland (aka Disasterpeace) (It Follows, Triple Frontier, Under the Silver Lake) has composed the original music for the new animated feature Marcel the Shell with Shoes On. The film is directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp and features the voices of the director himself, Jenny Slate, Isabella Rossellini, Rosa Salazar, Thomas Mann and Lesley Stahl. The movie is based on the short films and New York Times-bestselling books of the same title and follows a down-and-out documentary filmmaker who moves into an Airbnb and quickly discovers that he’s not alone.
Lisa Hurwitz’s ‘The Automat’ to Feature Score by Hummie Mann and Original Song by Mel Brooks
Hummie Mann (Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Year of the Comet, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, Thomas and the Magic Railroad) has written the original score for the upcoming documentary The Automat. Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles, The Producers) has contributed an original song to the movie, which tells the 100-year story of the iconic restaurant chain Horn & Hardart, the inspiration for Starbucks, where generations of Americans ate and drank coffee together at communal tables.
Kevin Morby Scoring Scott McGehee’s & David Siegel’s ‘Montana Story’
Singer/songwriter Kevin Morby has made his film scoring debut on the upcoming drama Montana Story. The film is directed by Scott McGehee & David Siegel (What Maisie Knew, The Deep End, Bee Season) and stars Haley Lu Richardson, Owen Teague, Kimberly Guerrero, Asivak Koostachin, Gilbert Owuor and Eugene Brave Rock. The movie follows two estranged siblings as they return to the family ranch they once knew and loved to care for their ailing father and must confront together what home now means to them.
