Composer Atli Örvarsson (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Defending Jacob, The Edge of Seventeen, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, The Eagle) is set to reteam with director David M. Rosenthal on a currently untitled French Netflix original film (known under the working title Apnea). The movie is written and directed by Rosenthal and stars Camille Rowe, Sofiane Zermani, César Domboy and Zacharie Chasseriaud. The thriller follows a young university student who decides to drop her studies and escape her life in Paris for a freediving course in the south of France, where she is quickly pulled into a life that reaches new depths brought by the weight of an ocean’s descent.

Joy Ngiaw has been hired to score the upcoming Netflix original film Rescued by Ruby. The movie is directed by Katt Shea (Poison Ivy, The Rage: Carrie 2) and stars Grant Gustin, Kaylah Zander, Camille Sullivan, Tom McBeath, Sharon Taylor and Eileen Pedde. The drama is based on a true story and centers on the relationship between a state trooper that dreams of joining the K-9 search and rescue team and a shelter dog who dreams of having a home, but is running out of hope. The movie tells the story of Butch a washed up war hero in 1880s Montana who embark on a life-or-death rescue mission into the frontier, alongside his estranged son, to save his Indigenous wife and daughter-in-law after they are kidnapped by a gang of violent outlaws.

Singer/songwriter David Longstreth, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Dirty Projectors, is set to make his feature film scoring debut on the upcoming fantasy epic The Legend of Ochi. The film will be directed by Isaiah Saxon and star Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, Finn Wolfhard and Helena Zengel. The movie centers on a young girl who runs away from home and learns to communicate with an elusive animal species known as OCHI. Saxon is also producing the project for Encyclopedia Pictura, alongside Traci Carlson (Menashe) & Richard Peete (Blue Ruin, Super Dark Times) for Neighborhood Watch and Jonathan Wang (Swiss Army Man, The Death of Dick Long) for Year of the Rat.
