Tamar-kali (Mudbound, Shirley, The Assistant, The Lie, Palmer, Come Sunday) has been hired to score the upcoming sports drama Flint Strong. The film marks the directorial debut of Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Rachel Morrison (Black Panther) and stars Ryan Destiny, Oluniké Adeliyi, Brian Tyree Henry and De’Adre Aziza. The movie is based on the 2015 documentary T-Rex by Zackary Canepari and Drea Cooper and tells the true story of Claressa Shields, a Flint, Michigan native whose dreams of becoming the first woman in history to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing came to fruition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
