La-La Land Records has announced a 3-CD set of the scores to the comedy trilogy The Naked Gun created by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams & Jerry Zucker and starring Leslie Nielsen. The album features the original music from The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear and The Naked Gun 33 1/2: The Final Insult composed by Ira Newborn (Ferris’ Bueller’s Day Off, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Sixteen Candles). The soundtrack includes the remastered and expanded score from the first two parts, as well as the world premiere release of Newborn’s music from the third installment. Also featured are the songs from the films, including This Could Be the Start of Something performed by Pia Zadora and Enrico Pallazzo’s rendition of The Star Spangle Banner.

‘The Purge: Anarchy’ Soundtrack Details
Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the thriller sequel The Purge: Anarchy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Whitehead (The Last Ship) who previously scored last year’s first installment in the series. The soundtrack will be released on July 15, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The Purge: Anarchy is written and directed by James DeMonaco and stars Zach Gilford, Michael Williams, Kiele Sanchez, Frank Grillo and Carmen Ejogo. The movie produced by Jason Blum, Sébastien K. Lemercier, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will be released nationwide on July 18 by Universal Pictures.
Anonymous Rejected Filmscore by John Murphy to Be Released
Taped Noise will release the album Anonymous Rejected Filmscore. The album features a rejected score composed by film composer John Murphy (Sunshine, 28 Days Later…, Snatch, Miami Vice, Kick-Ass, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) for a movie, which can’t be named for legal reasons. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 16, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. ‘The Congress’ U.S. Version Soundtrack Details
The details of the U.S. version of the soundtrack album for the hybrid animated/live action movie The Congress have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Richter (Disconnect, The Leftovers) who previously collaborated with director Ari Folman on Waltz With Bashir. Also included are versions of the songs Forever Young and If It Be Your Will performed by actress Robin Wright. The soundtrack will be released on July 22, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album overseas last year when the film opened in Europe. The Congress stars Robin Wright, Harvey Keitel, Jon Hamm, Paul Giamatti, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Danny Huston. The movie follows an actress who decides to take her final job: preserving her digital likeness for a future Hollywood.
‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Soundtrack Preview
The soundtrack album for Matt Reeves’ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has been published on Spotify. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Giacchino (Star Trek, Up, Lost, Ratatouille, The Incredibles). Listen to the full album after the jump. ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ Score Album Released
Paramount Pictures has released a score album for Michael Bay’s sci-fi action sequel Transformers: Age of Extinction. The album features the film’s original music composed by Steve Jablonsky (Pain & Gain, The Island, Ender’s Game) who also scored the previous three Transformers movies. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. A soundtrack EP featuring four tracks of the composer’s music was previously released earlier this week. Transformers: Age of Extinction stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Bingbing Li, Titus Welliver and TJ Miller. The sequel is currently the No. 1 movie at the domestic box office and is now playing in theaters nationwide.
‘America’ Soundtrack Released
Sensory Overload Music has released a soundtrack album for the documentary America. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bryan E. Miller. Also included is Madison Rising’s rendition of Star Spangled Banner. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. America is directed by Dinesh D’Souza & John Sullivan (2016: Obama’s America) and tells the story of the heroes who built America: Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and others. Academy Award-winner Gerald R. Molen (Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park, Minority Report) is producing the project. The movie has been released nationwide this past Wednesday by Lionsgate.
‘United Passions’ Soundtrack Released
Music Box Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama United Passions. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jean-Pascal Beintus who has served as an orchestrator for composer Alexandre Desplat over the past decade. The soundtrack is now available digitally on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. United Passions stars Gérard Depardieu as Jules Rimet, the man who created the World Cup and served as FIFA president from 1921 to 1954. Tim Roth plays Sepp Blatter and Sam Neill as João Havelange, the body’s seventh president. Also starring is Thomas Kretschmann as Adidas founder Horst Dassler, as well as Fisher Stevens as Carl Hirschmann. The film directed by Frederic Auburtin premiered last month at the Cannes Film Festival and is being released in several countries this month.
‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Soundtrack Details
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy. The album, entitled Awesome Mix Vol. 1, features the songs from the film by artists including Blue Swede, David Bowie, Norman Greenbaum, Raspberries, Jackson 5, The Runaways, Elvin Bishop, Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell & more. The soundtrack will be released on July 29, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label will also release 2-CD deluxe edition soundtrack, which features the film’s original score by Tyler Bates. Check back on this page for more details. Guardians of the Galaxy is written and directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro. The sci-fi action adventure finds space adventurer Peter Quill the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain.

Polydor/UMe will release the official soundtrack album for the biographical drama Get On Up: The James Brown Story. The album features studio and standout live versions of numerous soul/funk hits by Brown, including such songs as Please Please Please, Out Of Sight, I Got You (I Feel Good), Try Me, It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World and Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine. Also included are two previously unreleased concert recordings heard in the new film. The soundtrack will be released on July 29, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Get On Up is directed by Tate Taylor and stars Chadwick Boseman, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Nelsan Ellis, Lennie James, Tika Sumpter, Jill Scott and Dan Aykroyd. The movie scored by Thomas Newman tells the life story of the Godfather of Soul and follows the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.
