Gutsy has released a new soundtrack album for the animated series Moominvalley. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Samuli Kosminen, Pekka Kuusisto & Jarmo Saari. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composers’ first track (Moomintroll) below. Columbia Records has previously released an album featuring the songs from Season 1 back in 2019 and Gutsy has released an album featuring the songs from Season 2 the following year. Moominvalley is created by Marika Makaroff & Steve Box based on the classic Moomin books by Tove Jansson and features the voices of Taron Egerton, Jack Rowan, Rosamund Pike, Bel Powley, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade, Warwick Davis, Akiya Henry and Kate Winslet.

Edition Komplizen has released a soundtrack album for the German TV series A Better Place. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Jasmin Reuter (24 Weeks, The Heartbreak Agency, Kiss Me Kosher) and Isola Music (Martin Glos & Smörre Ziegler). A Better Place is created by Alexander Lindh & Laurent Mercier and stars Maria Hofstätter, Steven Sowah, Katharina Schüttler, Sandra Borgmann, Johannes Kienast, Richard Sammel, Alev Irmak, Ulrich Brandhoff, Youness Abbaz, Aysima Ergün and Cynthia Micas. Dan Deacon (Venom: The Last Dance, Hustle, The Changeling, Ascension, Rez Ball, Twixt, Strawberry Mansion, All Light, Everywhere,Wedding Season) has provided the original score for the upcoming documentary André is an Idiot. The film is directed by Tony Benna and centers on a brilliant idiot who is dying because he didn’t get a colonoscopy and chronicles his unexpected journey as he is learning how to die happily and ridiculously without losing his sense of humor.
Trailer and Main Theme from Akaki Popkhadze’s ‘In the Name of Blood’ Released
Music Box Publishing has released a digital single featuring the trailer and main title theme from the French/Belgian/Georgian crime thriller In the Name of Blood (Brûle le Sang). The tracks written by the film’s composer Guillaume Ferran (Take a Chance on Me, Escort Boys, The Scammers, Marie-Line et son juge, Jusant) are now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to both versions after the jump. In the Name of Blood is co-written and directed by Akaki Popkhadze and stars Nicolas Duvauchelle, Florent Hill and Denis Lavant. The movie revolves around two brothers who plunge into the criminal underworld of Nice, where revenge and faith ignite a deadly showdown.
‘The Prosecutor’ Soundtrack Album Released
Mandarin Motion Pictures Production has released a soundtrack album for the Hong Kong action drama The Prosecutor. The album features the film’s original music written by Choi Chul-ho and other composers. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Apple Music/iTunes, where you can also check audio samples. Also listen to the first track below. The Prosecutor is directed by Donnie Yen and stars Yen himself, Julian Cheung, Francis Ng, Kent Cheng, Adam Pak, Kang Yu and Locker Lam. The movie is inspired by an actual legal case in Hong Kong involving a man who falsely pleads guilty to drug trafficking after being framed and follows a veteran policeman-turned-prosecutor handling the case who is convinced of the man’s innocence and pursues his own investigation.

Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, January 15, is the Spanish limited series Cristóbal Balenciaga created by Lourdes Iglesias, Aitor Arregi, Jon Garaño & Jose Mari Goenag and starring Alberto San Juan, Belén Cuesta, Josean Bengoetxea, Cecilia Solaguren, Adam Quintero, Gemma Whelan, Gabrielle Lazure, Thomas Coumans, Anouk Grinberg, Patrice Thibaud, Nine d’Urso and Anna-Victoire Olivier. The show’s original music is composed by Alberto Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Volver, The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner, The Skin I Live In, The Room Next Door). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last January when the series premiered overseas on Disney+. Mokadelic (Citadel: Diana, Gomorrah, Django, Romulus, The Immortal) have composed the show’s original music. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer collective’s score this past Friday. ‘Planet B’ Soundtrack Released
Love Theme Music has released a soundtrack album for the French sci-fi thriller Planet B (Planète B). The album features the film’s original music composed by Bertrand Bonello (Saint Laurent, The Beast, Nocturama, Zombi Child, On War). Planet B is written and directed by Aude Léa Rapi and stars Adèle Exarchopoulos, Souheila Yacoub, India Hair, Eliane Umuhire and Paul Beaurepaire. The movie is set in a futuristic Paris in 2039 and follows a group of environmental activists who disappear after being attacked during a protest and one of them wakes up in an entirely unfamiliar place called Planet B.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller Den of Thieves 2: Pantera written and directed by Christian Gudegast and starring Gerard Butler, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Evin Ahmad, Swen Temmel, Meadow Williams and Salvatore Esposito. The film’s original music is composed by Kevin Matley (The Family Plan, Concrete Cowboy, Arthur the King, Path of the Panther, Daniel). Lionsgate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 800 theaters following an awards-qualifying release in December is the drama The Last Showgirl directed by Gia Coppola and starring Pamela Anderson, Billie Lourd, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, Dave Bautista and Jamie Lee Curtis. Andrew Wyatt (Barbie) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song written (with Wyatt & Lykke Li) and performed by Miley Cryus last month. Ken Burns’ ‘The American Revolution’ to Feature Music by Johnny Gandelsman, Rhiannon Giddens, David Cieri & Others
PBS announced this week that Johnny Gandelsman, Rhiannon Giddens, Jennifer Kreisberg, David Cieri, Yo-Yo Ma and Richard Evans are contributing music to the upcoming documentary series The American Revolution. The show directed and produced by Ken Burns (Brooklyn Bridge, The Vietnam War, The Statue of Liberty), Sarah Botstein (The U.S. and the Holocaust) & David Schmidt, written by long-time collaborator Geoffrey C. Ward and examines how America’s creation turned the world upside-down. The 6-parter is narrated by Peter Coyote and includes the first-person voices of nearly 200 individual historic figures, read by a cast of actors, including Kenneth Branagh, Josh Brolin, Hugh Dancy, Claire Danes, Jeff Daniels, Alden Ehrenreich, Craig Ferguson, Morgan Freeman, Paul Giamatti, Domhnall Gleeson, Tom Hanks, Ethan Hawke, Maya Hawke, Lucas Hedges, Josh Hutcherson, Samuel L.
