Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner (of The National) have teamed up to score the upcoming indie drama Jockey. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Clint Bentley and stars Clifton Collins Jr., Molly Parker and Moises Arias. The movie follows a seasoned horse jockey Jackson who finds himself facing what could be his last season as his health deteriorates, when a budding young jockey shows up and claims to be his son. Bentley also co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Kwedar. They are both producing the project with Nancy Schafer (Barracuda, 7 Chinese Brothers, Running with Beto). Aaron & Bryce Desssner have previously co-scored the Bentley & Kwedar-scripted and -produced 2016 feature Transpecos. They have also previously collaborated on the music for films including Big Sur and The Professor. Bryce Dessner’s solo scoring projects include The Two Popes, The Kitchen and this year’s Irresistible. Jockey will premiere next month at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.
